Well done Alex! I hope we all have sucess in this. It is their mistake, and as a result they have to sell them to us. I want my DBA 808's, and DBA 807SL and DBA 807SR with Bendix Ultimates for $500. If not i might have to take legal action. Come on guys! Get in there, buy them, hassel them, threaten them with legal action. Do what ever it takes. 50% off we would be mad not to :zlove:
ok another phone call from s/c ( apologetic ) this one was on the another of the fence ( hello ) " i quote" Alex sorry about the phone call you got b4 , it was NOT meant to happen.. the girl got it all wrong, i just could not get it from this one supplier, i have thousands of suppliers and i will get them in for you ,, your pads are on there way ,, so I'm going to put out another order form and you should get your breaks soon, sorry about the confusion..... " unquote" well its looking good for all of us now ,, if one can do it then all can ......
I have Bendix Advantage (they are not called ultimates any more). Ceramic with titanium strip. Virtually dustless. In fact, the car now gets dirty 5 times faster than the wheels instead of the other way around
I think you should Chill out.. Their screwup is not your legal right, if you miss out then you miss out but getting sourgrapes over it is immature. Threatening legal action is a load of shit.. It would cost you more to follow it up than the discount youre getting.
Paid for my rotors this morning. They are giving me metal pads with them because the lady said she couldnt find the ultimates in my car... i think that will be enough tho, they are charging me $64 for metal pads - is that a rip off? or should i return them when i get them and get the money and buy something decent. they rang me before and told me no pads till late december.
tt brake pad #'s ultimate pad part no. they used for my order: front db1170gct rear dba1220gct hope this helps someone
legal action pfft!!!! comon man it would cost you more in fee's then the package in which supercrap has put together... great deal hey... pitty its not worth it IMHO... for one its only std dba rotors you dont know if they are cast or steel rotors. the dba4000 series rotors are the same rotors with the extra slot right at the edge. the pads in which they have got with the deal are not even made for the zed but they seem to be the same pad as what the CT General is. I know what i would be sticking too and thats RDA at lest then i know they are a steel rotor as well as EBC pads... zac_du_preez when you say metal pads which pads do you mean? bendix only make 6 different pads for the z32 Advance, CT General, Heavy duty, Ultimate, race (rack use only) and street road track for the fronts only 5 is made for the rear the ones in which are not made for the rears is the race (race use only) pads.
THESE ARE NOT ULTIMATES the part numbers for bendix parts are as follows db1170gct general bendix pads db1170ad bendix advance db1170ult bendix ultimates THESE ARE ALL FRONTS db1220gct general db1220ad advance db1220ult ultimates THESE ARE ALL REARS the advance range is being discontinued (apparently) so probly the only ones available will be the gct and ult range
Zanjara you are saying you dont trust the DBA build quality not the deal.... If the deal was remotely fair they would comply without hesitation. DB1170bm - metal pads. thats wat it says on my receipt. i am guessing CT
harsh on rotors? should I go get another set of DBA's heard they were only $250 for 2 as well as pads....
sneeky s/crap told one thing ordered me another may have to go back and debate this some more me thinks.
metal pads by definition have a high metal content.....they stop well but obviously having a high metal content causes a little extra wear.... i wouldnt worry to much, they are better than the gct's but not as good as the ultimates so might as well keep them..... with this offer from supercheap take what you can get,its not like you have much option lol
I ordered my rears today (with the fronts ordered yesterday.) I could not get the ultimate/ultra premium pads as other members have advised. I ended up getting the appropriate gct's for 92 TT. I'm still happy with the outcome. I've saved heaps on the rotors, and the pads are actually a bargain too. Remember guys, you can always change your pads later, if you choose. Stick with the deal, stick with whatever advice is given in this thread, stick with the part numbers, and you'll be better off. Don't stress too much about the pads. If you take it up with the SC stores often enough, you may end up losing your rotor order.
Just ordered my set from Dubbo Supercheap. The first guy that served me was giving me grief and was implying I was lying about other stores honouring the deal. Then tried to tell me it was store stock only. I told him that was crap and so he called the manager over and it wasn't an issue as far as he was concerned. The manager did admit it was a stuff up and these prices are less than their cost, but the store was happy to wear it. There were a heap of problems trying to pay for them and in the end had to do it as three separate purchases (front, rear and then pads). As Bendix don?t make Ultra?s to fit the Z, I substituted the Bendix GTC pads instead. All up it took more than an hour to get everything sorted out, but got what I wanted in the end. I guess I?ll have to go shopping for my girlfriends Christmas present another day. Then again, maybe she just got a set of DBA?s for my car as her present Despite previous experiences with Supercrap (normally refuse to go there unless I have no choice), dealing with the Manager was the complete opposite to normal (previous manager left sometime last year). Might actually get stuff from there more often. Cheers Mark
