    Targas on and looking good.

Im starting to realize its a ridiculous amount of work to do the whole car..but its gonna come up very clean if i continue at this pace.

    Looking good :D

I'll be very keen to see how it is after a few months. Keeping it clean and looking even is always hard with matt finishes.

Wow this would be a great way to re-cover our window trims, is it thin enough to poke the mounting tabs through and re-attach??

1mm thickness, heat and stretch and you can wrap it around any curve. could even wrap a wiper..very small and intricate, as long as you had the patience and some skill :p

that looks like a good product. looks time consuming aswell. i reckon u should just cover some pieces instead of the whole car, the nose looks great, and the roof. even leave just them done and see how long it lasts, if its in sweet condition after months then do as u plan.

    Spoiler removal.

Today i decided to remove the spoiler as i had someone interested in buying it. Took me about 6 hours of mucking around..and i still haven't cleaned the back properly yet.

started off the usual way, used a knife to cut back the tape all the way round on both sides. Used a grinder on a massive flathead to sharpen it then knock out the plastic stud things from the underside. Took me 15 mins to get to this point. After 30 misn of pulling and head scratching the old man and i got some towels under it and tried pulling extra hard!

That failed so we moved onto something bigger and better...

    a TRACTOR:eek:

    about to lift that badboy.

Lots of tension..why wont you come off!!!

5 hours in and i realized this. I couldnt find a proper picture detailing where the screws were located..so we had been pulling with the 2 insides still in!!:mad::mad:

ended up bending some metal on the inside and scratching the shit out of some paint :(

Its off + old man inspecting damage.

spoiler is still in good cond.

Cleaning it and the sun was going down so we called it a day.

I'm sorry but that's just a ridiculous way of removing the spoiler, if things are done right, it wouldn't need forcing. That goes for most things, with some exception.

HAHA im glad you guys find it amusing. I wasnt using the bucket for its shear force but rather better and more accurate upward pulling. I needed to put strain on it so that i could look under and see those 2 damn bolts!

Where did you get the vinyl wrap from? Been thinking about painting the bits in between the targas black and this looks like a lot less hassle. Does it only come in matte black?

i got it from a 3M distributor in Brisbane fairly easy to find, like i said earlier its used for commercial advertising on vehicles. ~17m for a zed is my guess, if you were just doing the targas and the 2 roof strips 1-2m depending on if you fail much :p.

It comes in all colours, matte finish only in black and white. Gloss in all the others. Its the 180 range, controltac 3m vinyl. I got it from halifax vogal group.

    Daytrip

Went out to The Spit today for the anniversary of my partner and i.

Got ALOT of looks front people passing by...i guess it does look abit ridiculous(ill let you decide) but i loved it, so practical and heaps of room in the back. Just laid down a towel and ate.

90% of people driving past were giving the nod or the thumbs up haha!

Me in all my glory :rolleyes:
