I tried that vht stuff, wouldn't reccomend it. Makes the tweed feel all funny and spiky. There are better products out there.
lol thats like saying you werent expecting to get aids from that african hooker.... its ebay... of course its not going to fit
I've done the deed. I've dyed all but the door trim and the piece directly behind the seats. Outcome Sneak Peak It is an all-day job. My Opinion Looks fantastic, I won't do it on the seats as it does make the tweed stiff, but leather seats would look fantastic with the black tweed. If you're sick of your old tweed. I RECOMMEND DOING THIS Once I've done the door trim I'll give the Zed a cleanout and a good vacuum and show you how it all truly looks.
http://www.simplyspray.com.au/products/Upholstery-Spray®-MIDNIGHT-BLACK.html use that if you don't want your tweed to feel like arse my seats are done with that and they're awesome
Complete From Shitty Grey to... These pieces I just won't do due to the trim being stapled to the cloth my amp is mounted on. Too much stuffing around to get it out. Looks great, as Anti mentioned it does harden the tweed quite a bit so I would recommend the upholstery dye he has suggested rather then the VHT stuff I used. All tweed panels can be pulled off and painted separately, the door cards cannot be split, so I recommend using newspaper or even aluminum foil to cover the vinyl from the dye. Overall I would definitely recommend dying the tweed, looks excellent. I would not recommend doing the seats. Difficulty: 7/10 Job took about 8 hours total. Used 3 1/2 cans of dye.
Sorry bout the pics. Very sunny today. Lots of bloom, makes everything look a little brown. Its a nice smooth dark BLACK. I also, want to paint my radio surround matte black, this piano black shows scratches and dust way too much.
Got a few more imagines this evening Just so you can get more of an idea of how it looks. Going to get some chrome paint for the door and glove box latch. Then I'll get some matte black paint for the stereo surround.
Today, Sanded off the piano glossy black on the radio surround, and painted it matte black. Also pulled off the clock and vents and cleaned it all piece by piece, came up a treat. Problem is the H, M and RESET are painted on so I don't want to attempt polishing the clock back to as-new condition. New Radio Surround is in my CZP order. Also have new separate screw covers for the top vents in that order. So I'll have two surrounds in as-new condition. Have to sell one I guess.
F!ck. Coulda put that $132 towards the CZP engine cover. Progress: Choice was either this or matte black. I think the matte black would of looked equally as good. Turned out great.
Nearly done with the interior. CZP order should be here soon, few dress-up bits and bobs. Hard to get decent pictures. Majority of the day has overbearing sun glare, Gotta get the shots in during the evening or it they just come out shit.
Package from Coz arrived. For some reason only contained 2 items of the 12+ I ordered. This looks prrreettty tho. Wonder if It'll fit.
Moula just posted his CZP Order. I feel a little jealous, so here's mine. Ordered on the 25th, Cleared customs on the 8th. Only little bits, Nothing fancy. Just to keep everything organised I'll update this thread with my 99' Panel Splice. Thread What I did was fuse a 99' Panel with my Genuine Altia panel as my altia panel backing was old and scratched and I also wanted to get the chrome accent's that are present in the new 99' panels. From To Final note, If your panel is in good condition I'd recommend just painting the inner backing with some plastic chrome paint. That's all Nissan have done.
