Looking to make 250-300rwkw, what mods should i need?

    Ah hang on a minute I did it with a stock unopened original engine stock pistons turbos yadda yadda yadda :D :D

    Will have to perouse your build thread again to refresh on your setup to see if you qualify :p :p :eek: :cool:

    Cheater well you can claim highest power for a stock turboed stock injected ported and polished everything zed. I am interested to see how it performs actually. So no forged goodies in there just OEM gear hey very interested.

    Lol, i had a dream last night that i raced down the 1/4 mile and pulled a an 11.99 and i laughed at ZX2NV because i did it on stock turbos and internals and he didnt get to do it. What a weird dream :confused: :confused: :confused:

    Damn clutch it couldnt hold together for a sub 12 run rrrrrrrr bloody 12.02 so close yet so far thanks for rubbing it in again :D :D :D

    yeah just rebuilt all stock . i learned from yours and realy hogged out the coolant galleries in the block around 5 and 6 .

    it will be interesting to see what the stock set up can do once it has been optimised

    Hell yeah very interested.

    I am at the point now with ZX2NV (given other project) to just strip her fit the oversize ACL's and scats with new race bearings etc all balanced and port matched with mild head massaging like the first build, bolt on a set of bigger turbos and see what she makes. I have a theory that the stock heads, intake and exhaust manis will support higher hp figures without the need for costly upgrades to what extent I am not sure but hope to find out.

    Imagine how much people could save on there rebuild if say they wanted to make 320 to 350 rwkw on there streeter and you could do it with a freshen up on forged gear without expensive head work, manifolds etc

    I will have to put it to the test I guess to find out for sure its buggin me big time

    In the slot car
    the night he run the 10.709
    in the last run he did a 1.59 60 footer but missed a gear during the run.

    Over 260 for less than $10K

    OK Then;

    • GT28R Turbos $2000
    • HKS Wastegate Actuators $250
    • Full 2.5" twin zorst with High flow Cats $2000
    • Nismo 555's $900
    • Pod Filter $100
    • AVCR $550 (although not required but you seem to think it does)
    • ECU Retune $500 (although I did it myself $0)
    • Ebay Intercoolers $400 (yes the ones you rubbished)

    Total $6700 made 273.5RWKW at only 15PSI on a conservative tune on 98RON in the middle of summer in January. I know it's not 280RWKW but it is over 260RWKW. It was obviously capable of a lot more but I was new to tuning at the time and did not feel like submitting the pistons to some pre ignition at the time. Oh did I mention this was done with a power robbing auto transmission with auto spec cam shafts, there is about 20RWKW loss right there.

    Hey, if I could get $3300 for labour just to do that, I would give up my day job in a flash.

    A mate of mine is making 323rwkw with stock heads etc. Just has forged pistons for saftey and thats all the strengthening that has been done

    I would be interested to see a dyno chart on it and find out a little more about what he is running. I think with the right turbos and tune that over 350 should be achievable and maybe close to 380 with race fuel and super tune

    If you could PM me some more info that would be sweet

    but all that installed for under 3300? hah...id love to see a backyard job even do that.

    You can all keep abusing me....for all those who havnt spent the coin or got the power, i love how you all still talking crap.

    People who have spent the coin to get over 260rwkw know what im on about.


    Bottom line, if the user wants 250rwkw, it is achievable with no turbo upgrades and spending over 10k. Anything higher....engine out + $$$$

    And thanks for the heads up benny....show me your timeslip/dyno then talk cheers ;)

    Also i might of been talking abit of rubish when i pointed out to max about 250rwkw.....but with race fule on the dyno i might just hit it! Oh and with my new excedy sticker i might get 10rwkw too.

    Might even bump up boost to 1.4bar instead of 1.1. We shall see next 300zx dyno day!
