He (i wont say names) is lucky because he didnt put slips up to win that thing. For the money that has been spent on this thing you could have a real beast, instead you kept getting tricked by lyndsay and helping him stay in business to rip off other people. Then you go back there AGAIN to spend another large sum of cash only to be owned by a zed with an exhaust, larger smic, pod and a chipped ecu with boost :nono: :nono: :lame:

I would actually feel sorry for you, but you continue to carry on about how quick you car is when in fact its nothing but a botomless pit for your cash and a slug

i belive a stock 300zx is 168rwkw. and like i tell most people, the most performance u can get out of any car without touching the motor is getting the breathing under control, which is a good sized air filter with a heat shield and possibly a pipe from the front of the car to inject cold air( all cars perform at least 4Kw better in cold nights-cooler air, a good set of extractors, high flo cat converter, and a 2.5 or 3 inch exhurst system. but you must remember that if your xhurst is too big, you will loose back preasure wich means less Kw. once that is done, the next best option is a dyno tune. they turn your car without mods get get maximum performance without going into the danger zone of the engine

so what your saying is that you have somewhat 266rwkw... no chanceee
wtf ive never raced icer? and seeing as my car has just been tuned recently i dont see how i would have won before... the only time i remember cruising with him is we gave it a lil at the same time and i wasnt that far behind him...but then again his clutch was slipping i cant remember exactly but ye...

did i say 266rwkw? no you said it.

i just said what i was told by dr drift, s15 made 105 i made 231, you do the math come to your own conclusion.

as for the drag it was a guess..

    lol
    140-105 = 35
    231+35 = mafi-zed 266rwkw lol

more to the point what does it matter what other cars made. your car made 231kw. u dont compare it and say that lol...:). it could be a number of things why his car didnt make the power. but you cannot compare your car with that :bash:

i forgot to mention that those are not back yard jobs and the parts are top brand/performance parts. not ebay jobs just like he asked.

But for all you who have not spent the cash to do the mods to see the results you cannot talk. Maybe i was unlucky to pay big numbers etc. but i got all the support i needed. Not just a bolt on job see you later and brake down later on.

everyone has their own methods and rebuilds and so forth....

the only thing is. Mine is now on the road and has all the mods done to it and still have the support i need from mechanics. Zshop is the key. Keep your mechanic the same. I did. Pays off....

For all you running over 280rwkw and you spent less, good stuff! But i also did everythign on seperate occasions. So engine out 3 times for me. And no its not a slab from some mates in the backyard. I dont 'do' backyard jobs with my Z. I prefer warranty's!

If he is willing to do backyard jobs and spend 30$ on a boost controller when he SAID he wants a top of the line one, go for it!

Pod is what 100$? someone would charge 50$ to fit it. Or you could do it yourself if you know how to undo 4 screws + nose panel.

600$ for cat back? where from? fitted? single or dual system? nice work! bargin.

ZEDZY: k-zed has mods you posted and under 220rwkw (VERY FAR OFF 250rwkw (no offence k-zed)). sidemounts wouldnt improve that figure too muchs. ESPECIALLY ONES OF EBAY

Im there there might ... MGIHT be one or 2 members here who have spent under 10gs fo get 250rwkw.....just find them. And you might be lucky to have a beast of a car that can do it too.

Just curious. Who has spent under 10g's for 280rwkw here and has dyno'ed to test it? Even 260rwkw...nd in dont want 'im close' i want I HAVE OVER 260rwkw or....'i have the mods and im sure it is if i put it on the dyno....or my car is off the road due to blah blah but.....or any bs. just a simple 'yes i do, here is my dyno, here is my mods, here is the price i paid for whatever and here is where i did it all.'

    Then ill stfu

    You can stfu now.

    I'm one of them.

    I spent $2,100 to get 251rwkw:

$90 for apexi pod (fitted myself)

    $400 for mofoFMIC (fitted myself)

    $375 for Greddy Profec B-Spec 2 EBC

    $175 for Walbro Fuel Pump

$360 for fitting of EBC, Fuel Pump & BOV's

$700ish for chip and dyno tune of stock ecu

Note that turbo back exhaust system was already fitted when I purchased the car, and so was not needed to purchase, but if it was, then that would be probably another $1k to the bill. Still FAR LESS THAN WHAT YOU PAID. The work was done by the very reputable Tom of PZP, with great support, feedback etc... Also the work was not done in one go, but incrementally.

So either you got ripped bigtime, or you are just pulling our legs for cheap laughs. Come on man, you paid $8550 for 250rwkw??? You cant be serious. That must be a joke.

I went to a mechanic and paid $2,100 all up, you went to a mechanic and paid $8,550 all up. A difference of $6,450. WOW. For the difference in money spent 3 Zeds could have been taken to 250rwkw land. Or for what you paid, 4 Zeds could have been done.

    My list...

    Full turbo back exhuast: $2000
Hybrid GT2560R ball bearing turbo chargers: $3000
Engine pull, and installation of turbos: $1400
    Upgraded side mount intercoolers: $400
    GFB under drive pulley: $300
    Dyno tune: $300

K&N pod filter already on car
    Boost controller already on car

    256rkwk@14psi

I have nismo 555cc injectors to fit: $800
    Then will need a re-tune again: $300

I'll then have close to 300rwkw, and be under $10,000

i didnt say i spend 8500$ for 250rwkw.... i said those are about the prices to be looking for. That was the MAX est.

for me i went from 220rwkw to 280rwkw. so i missed soemthign in betweeen when i got new g/box, turbos, turbo back zorst and retuned ecu.

But i did spend about 5g's myself id say.

mtentori, 251 rwkw with just those mods? Very nice i must say. Got a dyno sheet? or did you 'lose' it? And where was it dynoed? At that Dr dudes dyno which pushes results up by like 30%? lol

    AndyMac Better than you

you've got a massive under-appreciation of what can be achieved with basic and intelligent mods without doing anything to the fuel system and turbo's.

Here's an early dyno from my black car, 240rwkw @ 12psi, this was pushed to 285rwkw @18psi with an EBC and adjustable fuel regulator @60psi, but I don't have the dyno on file, I'll have to scan it when I get home, but I will put it up just to prove the point. Mods are as follows.

    APEXI POD - $90
HKS SMIC - $400 (second hand)
    MBC - $35
2.5" downpipes, 2.5" exhaust with resonator's and magnaflow mufflers, no cats - $1200
HKS fuel cut defender and tune $450 (before and after lines on the graph)

    Thats it - $2175

Mate drop the accusing tone. You're are showing your ignorance if you think a zed with mild mods can't make 250rwkw. (ie, pod, exhaust, smics, boost, tune).

Of course I have the dyno sheets. Only a poser would "lose them". No it was not done by a doctor, it was dyno tuned by Tom of Perth Zed Performance on the Mindarie Custom Exhaust Dyno, yeilding 249RWKW:

However the run was done in third gear, and I received critisicms on this, saying that the torque from 3rd would have messed with the figures making for a higher reading, and that it should have been done in 4th gear instead.

So I took it down to the Hyperdrive Motorsport Dyno in Malaga for a power run in 4th gear, just to shut some mouths and for some peace of mind. This power run on a completly unafiliated dyno yeilded 251RWKW, higher than the run in third:

i said over 260rwkw. i see 240 and 251. that 10-20rwkw has to come form somewhere! And it costs money.

Bottom line here is....do it and find out for yourself! Only real way to do it.

For all you hitting 260rwkw with stock turbs, and spent less then 10k well my hat off to you! Beasts! Any car with over 250rwkw is a beast for an every day street car.
