I just don't want to be limited. I want to be able to take the girls out to dinner, take my brothers on a maccas run, go cruising with my best mate and try to pick up 2 girls etc...

My life is very spontaneous and I'd like to have a 4-seater sitting in the driveway for all occasions, instead of being like "ooh lets all try to squeeze into the 2-seater so we can see a movie!" or "do you think mum would notice if we took her car?" :p

    Fix that and ask $16k.

    Chad,

Your car is an above excellent example of a TT zed. (I'm sure you know this).

The only thing I would see as detrimental to the sale is the fact it's auto. With a 5spd, I think 15k+ would be attainable.

    I'm selling mine also, and although it's obviously nowhere near the power or the presentation of yours, it does have a few things going for it;

    -Manual
    -Healthy, tested engine
-Fairly standard (this could be a good or bad thing for the buyer)
    -100k service + plenum bypass.

I'm asking 9k. I will NOT be negotiating lower than that, if it doesn't sell for 9, i'm keeping it.

Based on that figure, I wouldn't sell yours for anywhere less than 12k at minimum.

Here in WA there is NO SUCH THING as a RWC, so taking this stance isn't going to help at all over here. And if you lived in another state, and bought your new zed from WA, same deal. No RWC, because there is no such animal.

In a year maybe, I will be looking for a 93 or so model that is in pretty much the same condition as yours (with or without the mods), and I don't want to pay more than $10K. And I'm expecting to pay less.

And I already own one, so I know what needs to be done to keep them running.

Don't forget, these cars sold for $35K USD when they were brand new! So what if we paid $90K for them here in Australia?!!
If you think of it that way, asking >$10K when they are over 10 years old is pretty much a dream.

That's my opinion. If you get more than $10K, then great, and good luck to you.

Bring on the flames! I'm a big boy, I can handle it.

I don't have kids either - I wen't for 2+2 originally because the car, overall, looked more balanced. The longer body from the doors back balanced the long nose.

Anyway, that said, the rear seats have come in handy for lots of things - because they fold down. However, I do miss the snug cockpit vibe the 2+0 has...

i also forgot to add the high pressure power steering line needs changing. and also needs new targa strips and a new centre targa bar.

ye i suppose i could do them... but without doing them how much do u think would be realistic to advertise for.

thanx i personally think it is a good example, just needs a few more things and it would be sweet.

for 10-12k i wont be letting it go. it just isnt worth it if thats all i am going to get. wtf else would i get with that money. and its not like i need that money...

i dont know atm but if i dont get something between 13-15k i dont think theres much point letting it go. i might aswell do what i want to it and keep it. if i keep it, larger turbos, manifold, injectors, 1piece tailshaft, leader gears, stally, massive stereo planned, and maybe suade interior would be definatly on the list.

i so want to do all these things but i wont do it if im going to selll. i just dont know where i stand atm. ill advertise it soon and see how we go.... and by selling i just hate the fact spending more time on the car. i have spent soooooooooo much of my time on this car its not funny.

more things i have to do means more of my time. im thinking of a reasonable price to advertise for without touching it right now....

no, we have pit inspections if you bring a car in from another state or get a yellow

..and believe me... there's ways round that too ;)

    Am i missing something?

I would NEVER buy another Z32

...strike that... I "may" buy a 2 seater, having owned a 4 seater.

But I'd never buy the same car id already owned.

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE the Zed

but life is short... and there are a shit load of cars out there.

When the time comes... I'll be moving on to sample something else.

Its a great car.... but its not a religion lol

Sometimes on here I think I've accidentally joined a cult haha

the white zx for 9k i think i know from zshop. and im sure he means 300 fly wheel kw. still damn good for the price.

and rwc is big news. no idea what your all on about. gl to all you buying Zs without one. especially in melb.

Well I would not want to pay top dollar for a Z that needs work. I would not pay more than $10k in it's current state. Most of those things are more fiddly than expensive.

What's up with your heater core, didn't you change that a year or 2 ago?

Damn lucky I got myself a late model Z31. The Z32 prices look like they are going down the drain. A quick look on the Yahoo auctions and you will find a late model Z31 in good condition pulling more than a Z32TT.

I've been offered 9k for mine as it is but it's never going to be sold.

dude no one has suggested buying a car WITHOUT a RWC. They are stating that a dodgy RWC is too easy to come by, and so you should ALSO get an inspection done by the mechanic of your choice... in ADDITION to the RWC.

think about all the people parting their cars now because they cant get the price they want.... this means less zeds on the road... this makes them more and more rare... hopefully thisl bring up the price :)

    My 2c

Cars depreciate... check out the residual values of most modern cars after 3 years and quit complaining about the relatively small drop in value in 20 year old Japanese sports cars.

Factor in the increasing costs of insurance and maintenance as these cars get older (and depreciate further) and most people won't be able to justify a purchase.

The right buyer comes up occasionally and a few exceptional examples get sold for truly exceptional prices but by and large prices are only going to continue to fall. Contrary to what we might hope the Z32 isn't and won't ever be a collectors car, so drive them and enjoy them for what they are - cheap and cheerful performance :zlove:

Best of luck with the sale Chad... she looks mint,
    Adam.

i disagree with the last part.

in time, when VERY few excellent examples are left, THOSE will hold colletor status

And im not talking about those with heaps of waisted money gone into mods.

    Im talking FACTORY conditiuon examples.

Just like the 240 and 260Z's before them, which now, in factory condition, or RESTORED to factory condition (NOT MODDED), hold a very good price.

The highest I've seen was about 26,000 POUNDS in the UK, owned by a Car dealer owner. Was restored to factory condition and was MINT example of the car in its day.

In time, the Z32 WILL follow suit.

Flame suit ready, but I personally dont see that being true of the 280ZX or the Z31

Reason being, those models just seemed to be part of the evolution but never attaining cult status themselves.
The Z32 was an award winning, and amazing car.
