I never said it wasnt a very good example, but in todays market value, you got lucky and you know it
It would be hard to get 16k for it in recession time im afraid,i hope im wrong, but i dont think i am :(
    Its a buyers market now,not a sellers :)

Afraid I agree with Si. It's a beautiful Z, one of the best I have ever seen (and had the pleasure of driving), but unfortunately finding a buyer is a bit difficult in this climate. I hope Erik just keeps it, going to try and talk him into it tomorrow :p

yeah no doubt but in this climate your can buy a $600000 lambo for $300000.
Its a thing of value(sold to the right person) and will be worth a better price again .

this is what i mean, this sounds like one very very good example of a zed with built engine, turbos and many extras and yet you were able to get it for only less than 15k. that zed is prob worth easy over 20k but the markett is just so shit.

i am in the process of advertising it :) still accumilating the list of things the car has....

bullshit that was all luck. that zed is worth it, but will it sell for the price no. but as i said in the first post there is some exceptions for example that zed. but again ed is trying to sell it now and unfortunatly he aint going to get anywhere near what he wants. i wonder if he will even get 15k now. this is the market.

    I REST MY CASE.

Exactly what I reckon... very few truly "good" cars out there as in good paint, good motor, good interior. I think if it ticks all the boxes and is tastefully done you would get close to your $20k.

I paid $14k for mine with good paint, nice rims and a/market shockies, low kms stock motor and slicktop. Had the gearbox not been ****ed I would have happily paid more.

That's where im crying right now. Some AWESOME cars at very very low prices and Im NOT in a possition to buy one.

Some almost guarnteed "investments" available if you've got the money and the guts.

I was looking at a Rossa last week
    1986
    2 owners
    1st owner = Eric Clapton
2nd owner = Owner of an Exotic coach works (fancy panel beaters)
    15,000 miles on the clock.
    PRISTINE car inside and out.
    ~$82K + Shipping & import (not much on a fre 1989) + taxes

If I still had my old job, I'd be talking to the bank by now.

    SUCKS!

I even found somewhere that would probably store it for me, for free... be secure, be available for people to view, and I'll still have access to it :(

Ah well... when the time is right.

I guess the point to my tangent is this... when the RIGHT car comes along....so long as it IS the "right car", people WILL pay more than market value if they know what's good for them.

but the onus is also on the seller to not drop thier price.

market value is just that. Dont sell cheep, and the market value isn't cheep.

it only BECOMES cheep when owners start off loading.

Soon only the good Zeds will be left standing.

...but what's also forced the price down is buyer caution. People selling cars at a marked up price, making out all is well and the car is worth it does not help.

A car can have all the shiney mods under the sun and make a very nice shopping list, but if they're not done right, the car isn't worth a single cent over market value.

Here is one reason why Z32 prices will only get

cheaper for a while yet. A lot of people will look at a late model 350Z that they can pick up for less than $25k like the one below. Most of us know better, but many will opt for the newer zed alternative. Umm ... would make a nice daily driver me thinks;).

    Kilometres: 119,000
    Colour: Lemans Sunset
    Transmission: 6 speed Manual
Body: 2 door 2 seat COUPE

Mate I should NOT have looked it up again.

    Im torturing myself lol.

After laying eyes on that example, would I ever be happy with a lesser one?

This reminds me of the first Zed i ever looked at.

2 seater manual TT dark blue in WA.

    Was MINT!

    I walked away

actually... i have some good friends in Queensland. Right in the top end though..... but my point is... they need visiting :D

Also have a guy on the Fezza forum in QLD offered me a test drive in his 348 :D

    FERRARI HOLIDAY :D lol

..now lets get back on topic.

Zed's are now worthless. But P platers will soon crash them all, leaving the eliete few that remain in tact because they all have blown engins and never drive anywhere. I predict LnP's will be the last Zed standing :D
