    Update

ok well the sample is looking good so far

i just gotta finish getting that blockoff plate made up

here are some pics of the pump all rigged up!

and this is what it'll look like in it's location in the engine bay!

    again, looks good!

is there going to be enough room for your radiator, thermo fan and the pump?

also, when do you expect the road test to happen?

ya the pump is fine with the radiator and thermo fan, i didn't even bother measuring it up - basically the higher i mount it the more room that i have - i will just try to keep it as low as i can whilst still squeezing it in

of more concern to me was the thermofan and crankpulley - with my koyo radiator things are a bit tight - but my tape measure is telling me that i hv 10mm+ between the pulley and fan mounted flush on the koyo radiator

i intend to get that plate with the 2 tube fittings welded up tomorrow, and if all that goes to plan with no hiccups then all my materials are finalised

minivan is helping me do my 100kkm service at the same time, so when we've done all that it'll be up and rolling - i expect before the end of this week :zlove:

are you fixing the water pump to something

or is it just goint to hang around in your engine bay... ????

i'm still thinking about that one

but my present idea is to hold it up with cable ties

the hoses support most of it's weight

it doesn't come with any bracket or bolt-holes to mount a bracket because it's designed to be supported by the hoses down near the radiator exit pipe

    ah ok

wouldn't it be better to mount it by cutting down those 2 pipes on the

block off plate to about the same size as the nissan bypass pipes and then mounting the pump sideways so you don't have those two big ugly hoses just sitting there?

    the holes (intake and output)

of the pump are too wide apart to allow a direct entry

your tubes coming from the plate are in a tight area, it has timing belts near it with a timing belt cover

already i will hv to cut into one of the covers to fit the input pipe because that cover normally overlaps quite a bit of the stock waterpump

    Today's Update

Got a guy at work to weld up the plate - turns out he used "silver solder" what is that? is it strong? i need to find out about that, i hope it's an appropriate material under heated conditions!

    which brought me to lunch:

which led to testing out the plate in the car:

which led to painting the plate in anodized blue:

which led to the final exhibition :zlove:

i think the majority of people would be better off...

purchasing the pump now, but not worry about installing it until we have a few people (me, chewy and mattz) set it up in different ways, and see how it goes.

I will be plumbing it into the lower radiator pipe.

Plus the smart controller will not be released for a couple of months still....

    yeah well

there seem to be 3 different methods of implementation that people can choose to go with, so that shouldn't be of a concern to people - implement whichever method takes your fancy or whichever method gets the best review

mine will be in my car and running on the weekend of the 15th of jan, my car is getting a 120kmile service from coz at the same time, so i'll have pics and the results of it's commissioning and testing etc for everyone to check out

at this price, $150ish should be less than halfprice rrp so this is a great deal for people to get in on

i'm expecting it will be great bang for buck :zlove:

in the scheme of parasitic loads, i think there is:
    1) lightened flywheel
    2) underdrive pulley
    3) electric waterpump
    4) thermofan
    5) lightened driveshaft
    6) lighter wheels

i'm not sure what else you can do to help your car's acceleration ability, so this is one of them knocked off the list at a cheap price
