just a quick update Been on hold for a few weeks as I sent my BDE gear back to Brett for diagnosis. If you look back in my build you will see when I first put the BDE gears on ,the adjustment came loose on one of them after 500kms and I was trying to work out what the rattle was . It seems this caused some damaged to the gear possibly putting out of balance. With cam gear covers on you couldn't tell so this may also have contributed to the cam snapping at 7500rpm .(1000kms later) Now nothing is for certain but its at least giving me a good idea of what happened. Brett was good enough to fixed it ,just cost me shipping one way . Car should get a base tune this week on 98
Every IAT sensor I have seen for a MAP system is just pre throttle or on the inlet manifold for a turbo car.
Same here, mine's the same story. I'd be interested to know what implications this has on idle control with the inconsistency of intake temps.
update car is on the dyno . Looks like I'm suffering from the dreaded boost creep split dumps aren't coping . wont sit under 20psi looks like My options are to remove the seperator (which defeats the purpose of having splits ) or go bellmouth . Probably going to throw some timing in it for now and run it in at 20psi
make up some bellmouths i made one for a sr with a xr6 internal gated turbo was actually pretty easy.
i've got a 4 inch bellmouth dump on my XR6 turbo and it sits on 15psi all day long. i'll be getting bellmouths for my ZX from ezzupturbo, one day when i have some money
Ok bit more progress and another slight problem. with boost creep we were hitting a slow rising 20psi hitting 412rwkw with boost controller off and timing pulled out. we've set the boost controller to 21psi and it holds strong . have started tuning putting a little more timing in . we are now up to 447rwkw at 21psi ! with no sign of detonation on 98 ! its doing it effortlessly more timing and boost to come with 98 problem is the 1000cc injectors have maxed out as the shit aeromotive 1000 is not living up to its name fuel temp hit 48 degrees ( gauges do come in handy ) and the pump doesn't like it dropping fuel pressure which is making it dangerous to continue . Looking at getting FUEL LAB 1000hp fuel pump now which has its own internal speed controller and be run by the Haltech .. it looks the same size and has same fittings so should be a drop in replacement Am doing more research on the fuelab pump .. keep you posted . http://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&r...qoHoDQ&usg=AFQjCNG5c42hsJIwvYt95nkiObDx4zb3nA
