YAY!!! Persistence pays. After countless conversations with head office I finally got the price. DBA909sLandR Bendix Advanced $250. Pick up hopefully tomorro or monday.
you know who ATAP is you knob lol! They will say it will take such and such a time to get it in but its a load of crap... its funny that they are using a parts supplier when they can get it direct from DBA themselves...
Nope. The first guy that served me said he was speaking with another Z owner the day before (so assuming it was you) and said he would tell me the same thing he told you....no way would they sell them at that price. I just replied with "bullshit" and then the conversation went from there. The manager (Dean) said he is expecting others to come in and he is prepared to honour the price. Just don't forget the sale ends this Sunday. But what ever you do, stay the f&*k away from Ultimates...that isn't a step forward, that's a step backwards. Dusty as all hell. Cheers Mark
Zanjara..that time of the month is it? It is a good deal, and I'll take DBA over RDA. I've always used DBA slotted rotors in both my Z's and they were better than the first lot of crap I tried. As for the Bendix pads, other than reading plenty of complaints about the dust from the Ultimates, I can't comment as I've always used EBC and another pad (I think they were from Race Brakes Australia). Depending on where you buy the rotors you will pay between $350 and $400 for the front set and around the same for the rears. So even if someone purchases all four plus pads from Supercrap for $500 and throws the pads in the bin, it still works out cheaper than buying just the rotors by themselves. And if your like me and live in a regional area, most likely you will have to pay freight on top (which isn't the case with the SC price). So SC screwed up and so those that want DBA rotors and can get their local SC to honour it, why wouldn't they buy them? Mark
Its not the best deal of a life time at all... Some of them on here are going nuts over nothing and want to take "legal" action in which case is not even worth it in the end for the sake of $250. Most of you dont even know what the wholesale trade etc are on the rotors or even the pads and how much they get marked up on. The std DBA slotted rotors depending where you buy them from start at around the $140 mark the DBA 4000 series rotors and 5000 series keep going up in price. And the first lot of crap rotors you tired were? At the end of the day if you got the deal good job but as it states for the best braking IMHO its not worth it as that package is for joe blows family ford or holden who thinks its a race car. Like you said you use EBC or racebrake pads need i say more... Ultimates are good only let down is the brake dust issue. You have spent more on pads then what that deal is worth if your buying EBC or racebrake pads
We all can't buy things wholesale like you Zanjara. That leaves the rest of us to squabble over cheap deals like this one.
who said i am buying things wholesale? Not me i am just stating facts not that i buy at wholesale. So dont put words in my mouth. Yeah you guys squabble over a deal in which you "think" is cheap.. You were the only one who got a set of pads which cost more then the pads in which they offer at supercheap. Like it has been said before most people who work at supercheap have no idea at all and most have no idea what is on sale until they are given the price list from head office stating which prices are for sale. Yes Supercheap stuffed up big and they will loose money over this and people will gain from it. All they have done is discounted the rotors and pads to think you got a good deal they are most likely not even making a gain over this which to me is pretty funny from a store that say they can get anything in which is a load of crap. Anyways who ever got it good on you lets hope you dont have to wait till after the jolly fat man comes around to even get your deal!
Just got back from Supercheap in Osbourne Park in Perth and the manager / area manager said it has to be the rotors and the ultra premium pads and as they dont make those pads for the zed they cant do the deal. Earlier someone posted the code db1107ULT, what code are these for as they wern't in the supercheap computer?? Has anyone tried asking for the zed rotors and pads for a different make of car they do stock and then just selling the pads on to some else?
I like your thinking I wonder what their excuse to that will be, surely they cannot refuse as it would be the same as refusing your sale because you want to buy rotors and pads as a gift for someone with a holden Good luck with it. Cheers! Craig
I've decided not to give my money to Supercheap and have supported Caz buy buying the rda slotted off her, much better to support those who like to keep our Zed's on the road than people like Supercrap. As the dba's are not the 4000 but only the standard rotors anyway their isn't much difference really. It was nice just to pop into SC and watch them run around the store with worried faces trying to delay me while they came up with a good excuse.
Actually Ultimates are the best pads Bendix makes SC buys the Ultimates for $115 - $130 a pair! Compared to the Premiums/General Saw it on their screens. The db908sr and db908sl (rear n.a 1990 model) are normally $136 each Saving $11 On the other hand The db907sr and db907sl (front n.a 1990 model) are normally $280 each Saving $ 310 Can anyone tell me they are not "worth the effort" Bendix Brake Pad Range
I just got back from Supercheap after ordering my slotted rotors and pads for the front wheels. I was able to have a chat to the manager and she informed me that there was an email about the catalogue and this special that went around to all stores from the National Sales Manager. If anyone is getting grief about honouring this deal tell the store manager to check their email! For the record I ordered the DBA4909 slotted rotors and the brake pads were 1170ult. However she did put a note in the order because the deal did not make it clear whether ultimates can be substituted for the Ultra Premiums, She mentioned that if that it was not the case then Advantage brake pads would be used instead. (1170ADV) When rung up on the cash register the price before discount was $467. She also let it slip that this deal was driven by DBA and Bendix and that SC were not losing anything. It was all about driving extra volume from what she remembered in the email.
