Just got back from supercheap also (couldn't resist)! Ordered a front pair of DBA slotted rotors, the bloke substituted the Bendix advanced pads, due to the unavailability of the ultimate premium pads for the 300zx. $250 all done.. The guy was more than willing to do the deal suprisingly, after what i read on here.. One of the older guys suggested he could save me more money ($220) and sell me some slotted Protex rotors i think? dunno.. but i just said "think i will just wait for the DBA ones to come in"! Im pretty happy with the deal, just wish i had enough for the rears too but i will just get those later! And so the advanced pads are good from what i have read? better than ultimates?
Just got jacked around by SC went there this afternoon to pick some up from my NA and they ****ed me around for about an hour before telling me that it was impossible because as the manager said 'Bendix didnt make pads to suit my car' and that because it was a packaged deal he 'couldnt do it unless both products were available'. i said thats BS because i kno some of you guys had picked some up but he refused to do anything for me. soo pissed off, was treated really badly all round.
you guys are going to be really angry when you hear that i paid the deposit for my rotors today and im getting the pair for $187 hahaha and yes they are slotted supercheap ftw cheers James
Take it to consumer fair trading. I work at super cheap, they know they are in the wrong and they are covering their ass.. That rule was made on Friday through an action memo sent out to all stores nation wide stating that if the brake pad for that car ISN'T on the shelf we cannot do the deal. Put simply, This is NOT stated in the catalogue therefore you are entitled to this deal. Ring head office tomorrow and explain your situation, failure of consideration on your behalf will resolve to action towards department of fair trading who target the media, etc. I myself got around this by getting random pads off the shelf and ordering the rotors I need. Mind you guys, I didn't get it easy, Zexual and myself we're having arguments with my own manager and then onto the area manager as to why I should be allowed to have this for that price. Eventually we did it a smarter way and came out better. Head office is your friend guys.
i paid $187 for them aswell, but i got the pads aswell so $250 all up.. The more i think about it the more i wish i asked for a set of the rotors for my "GTR", and sold the pads as someone suggested..
not worth the trouble really consumer affairs quite frankly wont care and although if i pressured SC head office enough i know they would fold and do it for me but i just cannot be bothered. both i and they know that despite it being advertised in their catalogue im not really entitled to it, long story short - people that go on about false advertising dont really have a clue regarding those types of situations and they dont have to honour it if they dont want to. all too much effort. i can probably get them through my work for a pretty good price anyway, just pissed off about the way they treated me
I got mine ordered last week, hehe :biggrin: It had to go through head office and half a day of phone calls but persistence pays off. I made sure I paid the full amount that day.
yeah I just got mine I just got mine from Tom ( ZRATED ). not dba but rda $259 for a set of front slotted for an 89 NA just another option and I'm happy with mine. My zed was off the road until brakes got fixed and now 2 days later its fixed:biggrin:
The only thing im paranoid about is my manager cancelling my order since I work there. I'm sure I could take legal action on that :whatever:
Got my rear set today DBA908 SL/SR I'm kind of surprised by how soon they arrived. I'm told that the fronts are not too far behind.
Interesting responce from the Myaree Manager I went in Sunday afternoon (the last day) and asked for a rear set. The bloke I asked flat out refused and said it was for store stock (so i pointed out the obvious), then said its not made for the car (I pointed out the opposite). So we got the manager, she said she didn't know. I mentioned that a lot of other supercheap stores were honoring the deal and there was a lot of interest from the car clubs. So she seemed very willing to help. Anyway, on Sunday afternoon she wasnt able to help further, took my details and said she would find out and phone me today. I wasnt expecting anything, if she called.. great... if not.. nothing lost. Well today she called me 3 times, getting all the info she could on part numbers and everything. Said that it was her fault that it has gone past the last day of the sale and would do her best to honor the deal. So hopefully she will come through with a call tomorrow for a rear set for me. She was very helpful. Ill let everyone know.
Bonus Got my call back today. The manager will honor the deal with DBA4000 discs and pads for $250. Discs alone retail for $370 she mentioned. Bargin.
MOFO Couch and my DBA4000`s... 1 Supercheap ...... 0 The original order was for the standard dba 908`s.. however she said they would take the best part of a month and didnt want to wait that long. So she upgraded them to dba4000`s.
SC came through with a set of DBA4000`s and Bendix Ultimates for $250. Cant complain. On my receipt it had my name next to '300ZX CAR CLUB'. So i think SC didnt want to piss off any car clubs.
Got mine yesterday....but they swapped the 908 out for 4000 series rotors, which was fine by me. However I wasn't thinking about the fact the 908 are the rears not the fronts. I think it would look a bit retarded having the higher performance rotors on the rear (and they look very different, so it would be obvious). Might sell the normal slotted rotors for the front and replace with 4000 series.... LOL, just went to add a smilie and clicked the More link.
