finally got a chance to put the quaife centre in . long stub axle machined 1.1 inches .. leader gears were previously shimmed with new bearings only 1000kms old ... so a quick swap over the old viscous diff in the box is now known as scrap metal
3" intakes installed .very neat fit . with front bar on ,they are located in direct sight of the fog light ducts for fresh air ..
Ethanol Sensor installed in between the surgetank and main tank return line for the fuel flex system.. all wired up Have welded 6an fittings to the sensor so I can keep it all aluminium hardline in the cabin.
Air temp sensor - pre throttle body installed and wired Map sensor - (orange plug) installed Fuel lines in Throttle cable in
Is it hard to bend all that alloy pipe for the Fuel system or Easy??? Links to pipe bender kit? Keen on doing the same with mine.
You know you'll get better flow thru FMIC without the cardboard, right? Lots of things I like about this build - cept the whole sliktop thing
any hand pipe bender . aluminium bends easily .. it depends on how good you are at getting all the bends right to line up to the fittings.
ITS ALIVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Started the beast up today on the base tune in the haltech ECU with 1000cc injectors. instant start and idling .. Dave the mechanic has noticed that one of the BDE gears isn't centred/balanced . Have emailed BDE with video and waiting to hear back . No way I'm running it on this engine. you will see in the vids the difference between the left and right (this is why I have no camcovers !) sorry for the crap sound but my camera couldn't cope with the deep rumble http://youtu.be/6-auSxe-YpM with crank angle sensor disconnected http://youtu.be/eVtRS4hWZFc exhaust .. distortion - will get a better camera next time . http://youtu.be/XX1f_Us-LAc .
Good effort , can't wait till mine turns over , And can slightly see what your talking about with the bde gears too
I modified my stereo surround with angled rings to hold 2 x 60mm and 3 x52mm. plus a dash pod with 3 x 52mm all up ..8 gauges fit comfortably and doesnt look crowded or out of place. Been asked a few times about not using the digi/racepak dash , I prefer the stock look cluster and these Defi Racer Gauges (white face)are easier to see at a glance.. and is how nissan would of wanted it . ethanol sensor in - not sure if its staying there yet. all wired and powered up ,phone pic but you get the idea ..still waiting on volts to arrive. dual AFR moved to centre of pod ..looks more balanced a coat of satin black and it should look factory R-spec
Guages are nice BUT when you are on the track you will never look at them. You really just need warning lights with presets that FLASH and an alarm sound in case something isnt right. Hope you have that Rob? Was going to do this but ended up just buying an AIM digital dash that I can program with alarms. It uses the MOTEC CAN bus and the engine sensors for the data stream.
Can do the same with the haltech but still a registered car so prefer this setup for now. Haltech can be set so if any probs with temps, knocking etc it retards timing, etc , goes in safety mode so you can't kill the engine oil and water temps are the main ones you glance at the track which is why they are 60mm. see how it goes.
