Racing Harmonic Balancer for VG

So what is happening?

I'm still in, want a silver one though, not black.

Also the AC pulley being standard size has been a concern of mine too, so if possible to keep standard then I would like this to be done.

on the ATI Super Damper- Harmonic Dampers?

 

Hey JP Put me down for one as well in blue as a preference but any colour even the machined finish is okay, whatever is quicker to get. Will pick mine up from the shop when ready.

Options

To keep price down and to be viable we may not be able to have a lot of options such as colour and size. If we have option to have water pump drive a bit smaller and power steering, but alternator at same size as factory. Is this what we want? Colour preference, well unfortunately there won't be as in they will all be silver or blue OK?? The car will nver feel the differenc eof colour but will know a good harmonic balancer form a one peice of alloy being the only other option to the huge heavy factory one and these ones should absorb resonance from crank better than the factory one, and much stronger for big hp cars.

 

I would be happy with that and think silver is the go. any idea on price for the whole shebang including belts to fit or Ican source belts from CBC if need be industrial style very strong and robust.

Yes as mentioned we can do a group buy on belts also to suit.
Also re the colour they are not really seen unless thermo fan replaces the factory viscous fan and shroud, and even then only just see it. So colour not really much of an issue.

I spoke with Ben form Ross Balancers this morning and spoke about options and he said they would be smaller than factory in size although may not be as small as the one piece alloy ones. If anyone wants to under drive their water pump, power steering, and alternator more like I do we have Greddy anodised $420 the set of 3 special price normally $495. This is more for race use as less power robbing and water pump over revving and cavitating and power steering not getting so hot. About a third of the weight of factory pressed steel pulleys. So added throttle response. If want light weight and look good only then alloy anodised Unorthodox Racing in blue which is a bit darker than the Greddy ones as these are same size as factory. They will be silver in colour. For those with manual cars better to go with lightweight flywheel rather than too light in the crank pulley.

Nothing definite on weight as won't know exactly until they are made. Keep in mind we can go light but will make around 4.5kg to also help absorb resonance and the trade of with weight against vibration or resonance dampening and smoother running at higher rpm as vibration robs a bit of power let along ware out motor or worse in high hp applications. They will be stronger than factory and lighter but not too light as mentioned, under driven and ANDRA approved for cars running less than 11 seconds at drags, also exceeds SFI requirements. Also tests on RB26 motors show the Ross Balancer has less vibration up to 6,000rpm although at this point cannot test accurately over this rpm so probably better than stock for absorption of resonance across the rev range. Certainly better than the non harmonic balanced one piece alloy GFB or UR versions.

Looks like ten plus me is eleven so more than enough to roll assuming all put their money where they fingers hit send to confirm interest?? With two on the fence with?

Any prize for being first in?!?

 

Any chance on an estimate of its weight? I don't think it's really worth it if it's only 1kg or so lighter. I doubt you would even notice a difference with only 1kg less mass there. Also it is unfair to say that they absorb better than stock if it hasn't ever been tested on a VG30, an RB is a totally different engine to a VG. Some more info would be good before I throw my deposit down.

Can anyone get the exact weight of stock?
