If the manufacturer WON'T make a different colour, unless they get an order for 10 or more, who's fault is that(in your opinion)?
Just what is your interest in this Baz?
I ordered one, so that's my excuse.

 

I understand Brad's disappointment, given the outstanding way in which his car is presented, but if the manufacturer won't play ball, then what alternative is open to UAS(other than the already offered apology and refund)

However while I have valid reasons due to the outlay after the colour was determined, I don't particularly see the need for you or anyone else to debate this. It is between JP and me and absolutely no-one else (as they do not see the need to match silver engine bay pulleys/components).

As it is the manufacturer can do these balancers in Silver, so the original order should be honoured none-the-less. A mistake has been made, and there is an avenue to supply the part as originally described.

Consider any budding debate about this nipped in the bud.

.. the fault clearly does NOT rest with the supplier, the middleman stuffed up badly and only after numerous, extended posts acknowledged that fact ... a little difficult to deny once the engine bay pics were posted ..lol.. (that one put paid to the litany of excuses ...!!!) ..

" a more than amicable response .." ..??? .. not at all ..!! .. a re-reading of dub's post of 27 march should suffice .. as became blindingly evident in another thread, again customer relations and client satisfaction seems to be a foreign concept ... and in this case, the customer request has NOT been addressed to any degree, not by a long shot ..

as for my s-stirring post .. hardly so ..!! to tie a customer "fix" to the sale of a further 10 units, quite simply is beyond belief .. even the proverbial drover's dog would smell that one out ... !!!!

and so, to my interest ...??? .. past involvement, as a forum member, noting some 4-5 g/buys that have issues .. and of these, some 3 have had similar excuses proferred .. engineer/machinist/supplier stuff ups .. occasionally compounded by the ever failing email/phone systems ...

are you suggesting that forum members do not have the right to be aware of such matters ...????

 

If you have proof that UAS's claim that the manufacturer WILL NOT SUPPLY a single pulley(at the same unit cost as the original GB), then provide that proof. If not, than I respectfully suggest you back of, as your constant snide attacks are quite transparent, and irksome.

In any Court , or Tribunal , it would be held "reasonable" that an offer of a full refund(and an apology, for having failed to be able to fulfill the original order) and would be viewed as right and proper settlement of a dispute(unless of course, you were sitting on the Bench).

Right from the outset, it was made clear by JP, that to obtain the best price for these items, it would be necessary to order 10 units(and the subsequent delay in completing the GB, was due entirely to 10 orders NOT being forthcoming).
Being in possession of this knowledge, it would seem somewhat foolhardy for JP to attempt to dive into the same "bad investment" again, don't you agree?(Given your apparent belief that he is motivated by profit, to the exclusion of all else).

You conveniently ignore the fact, that it is the MANUFACTURER who insists on an order of 10, or more, units. You also ignore the fact that this GB only went ahead because UAS made-up the balance of the order of 10, when insufficient interest was shown once deposits were required.
If there are already "unsold" pulleys at UAS, why on Earth do suppose JP would want to increase that number by possibly another 10 items?
Wake up Baz, and get over your bloody Air Guide issue.

It doesn't come as any surprise to me, that you object to my comments as "being unwanted", whilst happily accepting input from BB.
If you took the time to read carefully, you would have deduced that I was being supportive of your problem(and that is my choice to make, not yours).

 

I'm saying to drop it as you are not contributing to the discussion the thread is about. Baz is pointing out that he thinks I have a valid point and customer request given the manufacturer can actually make these balancers in Silver as JP originally said they would be. There has been a lot of irrelevant crap put in this thread and this clouds that fact nicely. Baz's comments bring it back to the fore so of course this I would agree with.
Your Baz-bashing doesnt seem even to have anything to do with this issue, and I really can't see how you are supporting my claim by taking the line you are Lloyd.

 

As long as "Trial by Forum" continues to be actively practiced on this site, I will reserve the right to volunteer my comments when, and if, I see fit.
I agree that this issue should be dealt with between the two main protagonists(you & JP), and in that regard, I bet you must be wishing you had dealt with it privately in the first place(it was, after all, your forum response that triggered this whole witch hunt).

Even your judgment can fail the test, sometimes.

At the risk of being judged as incredibly conceited, I respectfully suggest that JP is far more likely to accept criticism and advice from me, than he ever will from the likes of BB.
