P.S i didnt have to sign for mine.. he left it in the front foyer ( just outside the front door, even tho it is all covered ) as he usually does.

 

..::QUICK BASIC FMIC INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS::..


1. Pop the hood ......IF YOU CAN'T DO THIS THEN PLEASEEE TAKE YOUR ZED TO A PRO!!






2. Remove the centre panel: Just below the radiator support panel there are 2 10mm bolts.
2a. Remove the 4 10mm bolts holding the front bar on.
2b. Loosen the philips head screw to remove the AFM.






3. Remove the side indicators by the 2 philips heads screws.






4. On the inside of the wheel arch, remove the 2 10mm bolts holding the front bar on.






5. Looking up in the corner indicator hole, remove the 2 10mm bolts
*hint* you will be a long extension






6. Rip the front bar off. ......IT'S NOT MOVING?????






7. OH CRAP!... I forgot the 2 hidden 10mm bolt on the front.
7a. Now you can carefully take the front bar off.






8. To remove the front reo bar you need to get the fog lights out. They bolt up from the back.






9. Remove the 3 10mm nuts on the back of the reo bar.






10. Once the fog lights are out, remove the 2 12mm bolts.






11. NOW TO RIP OUT THOSE LIL SMIC'S!!
Remove the 2 12mm bolts.






12. Remove the 10mm bolt on the back.






13. NOW TO BOLT UP THE FMIC!!
I used a 3mm alloy L bend strip across the top of the FMIC ($5 from bunnings)
Centre the strip along the top of the FMIC... mark and drill out the holes.
Do the same on the front of your zed.
13a. Bolt the strip to the top of the FMIC. I used the 2 12mm bolts in number 11... they fit perfect!







14. Bolt the FMIC onto your zed by 2 old airbox mounts.






15. Replace the AFM and air pod. **My HKS pod fit nicely behind the FMIC.

 

16. Fit the pipes up **NOTE!** you will need to trim the rear stock hose approx 2" to get the pipes to fit 100%.



17. Self tapper the fog lights to the lip fof the front bar.




18. Re-fit the front bar.

19. YOUR DONE! Now crank up the boost a couple of psi's and go for a quick boot.

 

ooopps! forgot 2 steps...


Cut in half and fold back the small bracket under the headlights.


Trim the back of the front bar.

FMIC

James didi you buy four silicon hoses to replace the OEM ones coming of the old intercooler hard pipes if you did where you get it? how much? does it fit and what it called?

Also i tried chucking on the cooler today and i had all pipes connected and the car, when i gave it a few rev's reacted like it was starving for fuel. Did you have any problems like this?

I think i may have an air leak due to the tight fitting OEM hose lines to the new pipes hence the question about the silicon pipes.

Any thoughts????????/

Damn pod filter...

Thought the apexi filter would fit due to it being one of the smallest pods around but nope Me and mafi-zed are probly gonna get a J bend pipe made to squeeze it in there as I don't have the few hundred lying around for one of those uas airboxes + another filter. Probly wont be back in action till the w/e. Has anyone else installed theres?

Nah man you did it right. Did you cut & fold back the bracket?

The fmic should sit right up against the chassis rail.

No i just cut down the old stock hoses. I was going to buy some silicon hose from autobarn this weekend... just to make it look pretty I think they charge around $4 an inch?

Yeah my zed was stalling at first untill i tracked down the problem to a loose clamp.

Check all clamps and see how you go.
