in the pic where you've outlined where to fold/cut

we bent it back a little bit but didnt even need to, sits about exactly where yours is sitting in the pic.. not flush against the chasis at all, but its about 1.5cm further in than yours..

yeah that sounds about right. As long as the pipes line up straight you did it right.

The pic i posted is pretty old. i'll post up some more fresh pics tonight.

Did babbs car run fine after the install? no leaks?

    Having trouble with pipes

My pipes dont line up very well at all.
the short top pipes are not going to fit. one of them might but iv'e been attempting for the last hour, the other is just the wrong shape.
were both the short pipes meant to be twisted? because the one im having trouble with is not twisted at all and i'm trying to put it on the passenger side.
the long bottom pipes are ok but still aren't really a good fit as the pipe's not lining up to the mouth of the cooler very well.
Am i doing something wrong? has anyone else had trouble.

  9. FMIC Delivered

    Thanks James,

If there are any how to's or what to look out for when installing this thing it would be great if someone could post this up as I and maybe others are not so mechanically minded and not rich enough to have a shop put it on ...

    Problems

Just finished installing as per instructions, start up the car and it starts fine, i give it a rev and... nothing! no throttle im lucky if it moves to 2000rpm. anyone have any idea whats going on?
All the clamps are tight and same with the AFM. i've got no idea?

did you forget to plug the AFM back in via the electrical plug??

btw what pod do you have and how did you manage to get it to fit..

    No AFM all good

AFM was pluged in and all good, i still cant get any throttle response. Ive got a Trust pod filter, it was very tight as there looks to be an oil cooler or something just behind it so its very jammed in. i will get a bend and attached that if i can ever get the cooler to work. any other ideas?

    need help

after installing my FMIC today i started her up and listened for leaks before putting the bar back on, lucky i did cause i can hear a hissing sound coming from somewhere around that black cylinder thingy on the left hand side. i fiddled round with the pipes and stuff and its definitely not coming from there.
when i give the car a rev the left hand side charged air intake pipe sucks in and the car nearly stalls.
any ideas cause i got big problems now i cant get to work.

Dude, thats the same as what i've got going on

just noticed the hissing from that black cylinder, but mine doesn't want to stall. also my pipes are on different to yours with the long pipe coming from the bottom on both sides and the short from the top. have i done this wrong? i just assumed both sides were the same as right side pictured on P41.

Re: Dude, thats the same as what i've got going on

Well theres your problem sam. You got your pipes on back to front.

The pipes with the bends are for the top.
    Flat pipes for the bottom.
