there is no point to miss, put yourself in his shoes the last thing

you would want is to be lectured by people who don't know you well and don't know the exact situation.

mate i feel for ya... i can just imagine me in your shoes.

    I'm in the same situation.

    . I can't afford comp insurance (3grand a year last time i checked)
. I'm up to my neck in debt for the car

And if something like this happened to me I'd lose it so bad.

Its easy to say at least your ok (not that that's not important, coz it is and you should be thankful for it), but money does play an important rule. Hopefully you're able to recover and pay it off soon, if you ask me buy something as a run around if you need a car for work etc... I had a ford laser on gas for a while, best thing I ever bought (till a guy decided to write it off for me, I won't get into it)

All I can do is say sorry to hear it mate, wouldn't' wish it to happen to anyone.

Please criticizing should remember how they were when they were young and not think they know it all, no1's perfect, as long as you've learnt from you mistake it's an experience not a mistake.

My mate wrote off his corolla when he spun out in the rain, at 40kph, smacked his head against the pole too, was in a coma for 3 months, by standers couldn't believe their eyes, comments included, "that was the slowest crash i've ever seen", "it was as if someone had a rope dragging it"... its not all about what speed you're going. so get over this young drivers = speed = killing and danger its a load of absolute shit.

Accidents aren't always avoidable (my pics)

Sometimes they really are just accidents, we dont know all the circumstances, perhaps there was oil or some other slippery substance on the road?

My supra aquaplaned (sp?) at 50kph (in an 80 zone) coming up a slight incline in the wet, some ripples in the road caused the car to kick sideways with such ferocity that it was completly unavoidable, taking out a $40,000 automobile and opening up my head quite badly, I just thank god for insurance, I really feel for him that he isn't covered, thats perhaps his only mistake.

Sure he is going to beat himself up about it (as everyone who has been in an accident will know) hind sight is wonderful and 20/20, I beat myself for a while.. What if i'd been doing 20 or 30 kph? what if id been going a different way? but the fact of the matter is, it was just unavoidable and fate... Just take care out there, shit happens in an instant :(

i am pretty sure that last week brenton you were congratulating someone

for winning a high speed race against a porsche turbo. i don't think you have a right to say anything in this situation:thumbsdown:

And how many lives did he endanger in the process? High speed? The speeds were not even mentioned... If you are going to have a go at me, at least have SOME fact...

    Re: hindsight

That really is the key here, with regard to any negative comments made.

Hindsight is always 20/20 - even easier to come at it from an outsider's perspective & have a go at him.

He's paying for it now, leave him be...just fortunate to have the chance to put what he's learnt into practise for future motoring. That kid in VIC won't get this opportunity.

High speed? Speeds were not mentioned. If you want to have a go at me, SOME fact would be required.

Fully agree zedster, no one buys a zed to drive around at 20 kms/hr

and accidents aren't always avoidable. I flipped my ET Pulsar at 40kms/hr due to a wheel that decided to go down, I was driving slow, doing the rignt thing only to find myself on the roof a second later.

    Good luck Zedded:thumbsup:

You forgot to mention that it happened between the "Order" window, and the "Pick-up" window, in the Drive-thru at McDonalds.:LOL:

to outrun a porsche turbo in a Z you would have to

be pulling alot of speed. that is pretty obvious. those things are definately not slow. there was something also mentioned about the porsche in the original post about how this particular porsche driver had a reputation for high speeds in the gold coast area.

not to nention that he also had to pull into the emergency lane to

pass other cars.. which would mean that you were going over the speed limit, also from memory the car was put back into 3rd and planted? I don't know about your Z but if I plant mine in 3rd I am wayy over 100clicks in a matter of seconds.

    Anyways, who cares now.

Re: Wasn't a forum member racing a porsche on the road the other week?¿? or

Exactly. Last time I checked there are heaps of TT drivers here and you can't tell me that they all go to the track to use their extra power for example. Everyone loves a car that accelerates fast and can handle well so I agree with Method. And let those who without sin cast the first stone yeah?

Glad you and your mates are alright dude!
