All of the above collective sentiments are expressed...

from me to you matey. :( Glad you and your friends are OK and thanks for letting us know about this terrible mishap. I am sure we can all learn a valuable lesson from this.

Well I hope you have learnt your lesson.

Thank god no one was injured, especially your friends. I hope you do feel shamed, writing off a beatiful car for no reason and putting your friends at risk. I cant imagine why people try to do STUPID things on roads. Thats what tracks are for.

Ive seen far too many wrecked zeds for one weekend already, going to Cresta, and now getting on the forums to see this.... When will people learn, cars are not made to be driven sideways....

"but remember NO MATTER how skilled a driver you are, you CANNOT avoid an accident! i had absolutely no time in which to react." --->I try as hard as i can to NOT get into ANY situation that I cant control. My car, myself and my friends are important to me.

I hope you have learnt your lesson, and the same for your friends. Shame. Shame. Shame.

Wasn't a forum member racing a porsche on the road the other week?¿? or

something along those lines.. i don't want to mention names..

Give him a break.. we all do stupid things, not to say he was being silly or anything... but sh*t happens. I am sure 'this person' was lucky that someone didn't run onto the road when he decided to speed, or 'that person' was lucky he didn't lose control when he decided to rip it up down the street.. you should get the point...

One thing I can not stand is how people act as if they have never exceeded the speed limit or done a burnout and think they can just bag other people who do these things where the result of it is unfortunate.. I am sure he would have been told 'it's a lesson' etc etc.. so who cares!!

Bad luck about the car but at the end of the day that can be replaced, you can't.

    Hey Brenton, fairly strong words

Possibly deserved, possibly not - I don't know the facts.
What I'm questioning is the timing of your comments.

Plenty of time left yet to get people to be part of "a perfect world".

Many a time I've said "Look at that bloody idiot - how did he/she ever get a licence", but what I'm sure of is that the same has been said of me.

Mate, we all try hard to do the right thing.

Simply saying tracks are around for a reason,

and I have too much respect for my friends/passengers in general to be driving in that way. I see myself as being responsible for their saftey.

Flame me if you see fit, but people that travel in my car, will travel the safest way possible.

A forum member was racing a porsche, but that was his choice, again one I would not choose myself.

"where the result of it is unfortunate" ---> this time it is 'unfortunate' next time its fatal. Don't kid yourself.

i understand what happened was stupid...

but i was expecting a comment or two from a person like this.

i think personally you should shut ur hole on issues like this unless you were in the car or saw what happened. shame shame shame!

i feel enough shame, and am happy to return to driving my cortina. i have a loan to repay too, no full comp. insurance.

i am not a hoon, and didnt intend for the car to lose traction. our drive up there was very smooth, trouble free, law abiding. the car didnt drift, it skipped sideways ever so slightly.

i am merely warning everyone how powerful these cars are and they can be unpredictable, especially on public roads.

    Take care all!

I just don't recall you bagging the other guy who raced the porsche

but you choose to bag zedded?
If I am wrong please refresh my memory, I can't find the post about it in search.

Who is to say next time it's fatal? Your first crash could be fatal and usually is but thats just how things work out in life.

Unless you are someone who can see the future what you say is only an assumption.

you dont get it do ya?

you're a waste of time mate... i dont want you to have a crash, but if it happens in the same circumstances, you'll understand. :p

Re: you dont get it do ya?

Perhaps you don't get it? Your car 'sideways', means you were obviously driving too fast, so it could have been avoided. Im just glad you are all ok, and you HAVE learnt your lesson and are wiser for it!

I hope you get zedding again as soon as you can.

I think the points been understood...

..and people are now getting off topic.

A mistake was made and Zedded is paying the price; thankfully not the price of human life but a price nonetheless.

It irks me that people can claim all high and mighty about never doing anything wrong on the road. Unless you aren't human its a guarantee you would have made a mistake and/or broken a road rule before.

And lets not forget - accidents happen at the track too.

Thankyou all for your supportive comments...

i feel for the 19yo guy (same age as me) in victoria who hit a tree and got killed very close to the same time i had my accident.

After i sell wots left, i dont think i'll be buying another zed for a while. sorry fellas.

    Thanks again!

    red32 You talkin' to me?

Brenton, circumstances can sometimes be very difficult to judge

    .
I "360'd" mine the other day . . . at 40kph. Fortunately didn't hit anything, but as you say, I was obviously driving too fast for the circumstances (left-hand bend through roadworks, with clay (and diesel) spilled on the road surface). Give the kid a break!

Sorry to hear about your accident mate, and anyone here who says that

they have never given their car even just a little squirt on public roads, is a bs artist.
