ive been in touch with suppler And is all good just need to send some money to him and we can get one here. 2 seater and 4 seater.
How many are interested? And Gonz, with the amount of interest you have received, what is it REALLY going to take to get these here?
im still interested but i can only participate if this is happening in november / decemeber... rego and 2000spec lights this month and next
Ok you sitting down With postage $3791 per kit, sides and rear Thats for the wide arch sides and wide rear bar for 2 seat and the same 4 seater. And thats why im offering these at a cheap price for those who want in. Its only $800.00 for each person but its when people wont to go ahead with and when I have the numbers about 10 off each this will go to group buy.
Great to hear the US style rear bar wont be a problem, the other style just dosen't do it for me and that was my only other reservation. Very keen now, but a wait if necessary is fine. Just hope we can get the numbers over the next few months. Ben
I googled this kit and found some nice pictures (even of the front), they did look fairly ugly in the pics posted up before. Recommend to google if you want to be a bit different with the front.
One more thing, u recon it will be possible to modify the side gaurd to have a massive speed hole or whatever you call it as in the yellow 300zx in the link below http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=248977&page=6
To duplicate that look you would have to modify the doors aswell adding more work and cost to the kit i'd say. Im assuming that shape hole could me made without continuing into the door but any modifications would be entirely up to Gonzo of course. I quite like that look also, but if this GB happens Gonzo's gonna be a busy boy so I don't want to increase his workload if I was happy whith the current design. Just see what he thinks I guess. Ben
Speed holes I could change the speed hole but it would be done with out changing the door so it wouldnt be as long i guess. ANd there would be no more expence to the kit.
Ok this has been a while seince it started I have been in contact with the seller and have been told its ok to do copies of there work here in Aus. I looking for people who would like to have the rear bar and wide arch kit made for them. This is for 2+2 for now so I need about 6 people that are interested in buying copies from me. 2 seater can be done also. I wont be getting the front bar in unless some one wonts it. As soon as i have 6 people this will go ahead. PM me if your interested.
Hey gonzo. I cant be bothered to read the whole thread again but i dont think anyone asked how much would it cost to actualy stick those on(the rear arches) as there is alot of work involved from what the pics showed. Anyway estimated prices?
Hey mate, I am pulling out of this one, I really really don't want half of my car to be fibreglass as it is going to be my daily driver. Sorry mate Good luck with it though.
I was just wondering with people backing off with the fibreglass stuff...isnt it tough...especially if gonzo does it im sure they wont be thin....is there anyway of getting it carbonfirbred for increased stregth...whats the price figures looking at for that....cheers
I think people over-estimate how strong glass is.. it CAN be strong if it is really thick, but it's sort of brittle.. one hard knock and it breaks. I saw a clip the other day of a body kit shop who make their kits strong, the guy smashes the bar with a hammer several times as hard as he can and it doesn't break BUT the bumper is just sitting on the floor so it bounces and flexes. Put it on the car and it would shatter in no time. I think the things I considered were that I am getting a re-spray, like anyone who wants a wide rear would do and all you need is for some clown to clip the car when they are parking etc and it is ruined. Repairs + a respray of virtually half the car will be needed and that would just be a waste of money IMO. You also need to consider that you will need new rims with spacers to make it look decent, if you just got spacers and kept 9" rims it would look cactus, but again that's just my opinion. If my car was a show-only car then I would jump in this straight away, but it's a daily driver so that's why i chose not to do it.
