What have you done to your Zed today?

Fitted rear mud guards.

 

Nah he didn't have any.

 

Well I'm after some.

 

sunk 360 odd into fluids and spark plugs... which might mean it is going to get a start soon or I like to collect synthetic oil.

I was jacking it up and the jack slipped of the crossmember. Hand brake was on and the jack wheels must have gotten stuck on a rock. Jack slipped and the car came down and landed on the jack by the Underdrive pulley. Snapped my aircon belt, Dented the pulley, Mangled the front of the sump. I think it may have snapped and engine mount and worst of all the engine got pushed up into the bonnet and dented it.

Not Happy.

 

Ztoy i think your zed is a TT...if the pulleys are the same from a NA, you can have my old pulley if i still have it somewhere in the garage, if you cant source one local to you

All I can assume is that the jack stopped rolling backwards on its wheels for some reason. As the handbrake was on the car wasnt rolling so eventually enough force was there to make the jack slip off.

Just an odd accident. I have jacked up this car too many times to remember, with and without handbrake, without incident. She just didnt want me fixing her water leak this arvo.

Im most pissed about the bonnet as it will need respraying to repair. (Or a huge bonnet scoop )

 

Damn sorry to hear that Al... just another example of why you don't get under a car that's just up on a jack, always use stands - as I'm sure you were going to!

OH Dear!!!!!!

 

Yesterday and today I...

- Got some new rubber fitted by Moo
- Bought the zed some early christmas presents (infill panel and GFB hyrbid BOV's)
- Spent an hour or so with Moo trying to fix my boot latch and it not closing... failed..

- spent another 2 hours with a new latch from Chilledpain. Managed to thread 6 bolts (need to find my die and tap set sigh) and the boot still closes wrong..

FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU

 

Painted and cleared the gearbox. Started on installing the lower plenum and timing belt.

I just pulled off the Unorthodox Racing UDP off my old motor Ztoy. Was going to sell it along with the water pump pulley if you're interested.

 

Didnt exactly work on the zed personally but did see quite a bit of progress

Complete roof painted gloss black, dropping in new nose panel next week to work on, rear bar has been modded to fit the zees and it does look great ducts are getting painted next week aswell...plus my door and guards dont hit anymore

Now i need to decide if i should leave the body as-is or should i get a roof wing just to finish it off
