I reply to ALL sensible emails although as mentioned in normal times at least. WE HAD A BIIIIIIIG FIRE ABOVE OUR SHOP AND GOT WATER AND SMOKE DAMAGED AND COUNCIL THREATENED WORK COVER AND POLICE TO REMOVE US FROM OLD SHOP. HAD TO RELOCATE AND BUILD NEEEEEEEW SHOP. If prior to October and up to recent and no reply then may have been a funny email or did not receive, send again if have? I know I reply to emails more than most other businesses with premisses and over heads and staff etc.

 

Just so nobody thinks I am a misunderstanding bad guy, my car came back on the road in August 2006.

I agree with that Chili, dont get me wrong. Im not knocking the performance of the slot car as a race car, just voicing my opinion that for me to consider a shop to truly be the best in Australia it needs to be proven, not just voiced by the manager. I would consider some high HP builds to be a testament to that fact. The higher the numbers, the more skill involved in the build. The more often that is reproduced the more faith you put in their quality control. A one off highish dyno that cant be reproduced doesnt make the best shop in Australia.

Im looking for 700+ rwhp for my build. Why should I take it to UAS over another shop as they have never done this before? Again, just my opinion.

In this case we made the mistake of repeating what our supplier told us who up to this point was quite reliable. Try to understand it was not us that delayed anything here. I even put Geoff on forum who was also waiting a long time over Christmas time James from Abrasive Flow contact details to talk direct to see the direct story.

Please don't twist my words even though there must be medals going for this ability it seems. I said that they were exclusive to us correct, limited supply and those who put their order in and pay get in the cue. Would you like to pay and go through correct channel and be bumped back?? I would not nor did I say would make purchases more difficult or anything like it. Frustration thrown in with passionate anxious person of a certain character and out comes misunderstandings to hearing what they want to maybe and magical stories.

This is my point John. Why throw in those last lines and try to character assassinate every person who has a problem with UAS service? Obviously its not limited to a few and do you not think you alienate both the person your replying to and anyone else reading the threads? Would you deal with yourself knowing if you had a problem this would be the reaction youd get if you asked for advice from the forum? Doesnt matter if the complaint is based on substance or not, its YOUR customers who are saying they are unhappy. If you want repeat business and good word of mouth then you satisfy their concerns not call them "anxious people of uncertain character".

from NZ? Which would make JP number 1 in Oz?? Also John from my knowledge doesn't aim to be a dyno queen. There is more to a dyno than its end result...

You keep saying everything about my car and Johns are the same. Just because some of it is, does not mean all of it is.

There are still critical differences which have been spelt out to you many times which explain but your reading is so selective its pointless to repeat again

To stick to the original thread topic, I have dealt with UAS for many years and am very happy to take the 300km trek to get there for servicing and modifications. It is the only workshop I have encountered that is happy for you to hang around. Others have been more 'drop the keys and dont call us, we'll call you' attitude.

Just so you know I work 70 hours a week with one job having enormous responsibility and only get just over $60K a year for the both of them together. I would not be taking my very hard earned and hard to come by cash on somewhere that was dodgy or spun lots of BS just tell me things I like to hear. I have only gotten the truth from UAS, and I have also got an immaculate built engine. If I suspected I was being ripped off, I would take it elsewhere but so far UAS has earned every dollar I have given them.

 

just becuase he is ontop of the oz300zx.com dyno list for aussies doesnt mean he has the most powerful zed in aus.

I wonder how long we should wait before moving this discussion to For Sale by Business section?

With all the fierce feedback John and his supporters give in response to threads like this, I imagine many other zed businesses (who are all using the business section to advertise themselves) are looking on and wondering how they could get the same amount of exposure as John gets without sanctioning...

But to some here it seems the list and the end numbers seem to be important in deciding what constitutes a good zed workshop And that is regardless of what the zed is primarilry used for in the first place!

I would love to see a zed that could put out the figures that JP has at such low rpm though.

 

Does this also apply for faxed order forms? Just need to check, then ill send again. I understand your problems with the fire, move etc.

If this was Cresta that was in topic with this kind of feedback, I would move to have in deleted for the sake of its owners and reputation with one last post - 'Thank you for bringing all this to our attention, we will endeavour to address all issues raised and appreciate your input.'

An unbiased moderator would have put a stop to this the moment that it took on the usual witch hunt aura, not to mention when previously deleted subject matter which was very old and under question, was introduced. It is interesting that whenever accusations are leveled at UAS/JP, any attempt by the person under attack to defend himself, is made, it is viewed as "touting for business".
To suggest that JP is engineering these attacks on his business name, so as to gain publicity, is almost beyond belief, and you should be ashamed for having eluded to that possibility Mark, IMHO.

 

At the time of this post being made, there are 78 posts in this thread. Eleven of those are ranging from mildly supportive to supportive of UAS/JP.
Several of those 11 posts are from people who do not use UAS's workshop, and/or may have never met JP.
How 11 supportive posts can be seen as an unreasonable show of support for UAS/JP, from a sample of 78 posts, and how this can be viewed as unsanctioned advertising, beggars belief.
Clearly I have lost the plot, as this sort of uneven playing field is not acceptable to me, nor would I think it acceptable to any fair-minded, intelligent individual.
How about taking some of this forum criticism on board, in the same manner as has been advised to JP, and thanking me and other like minded members for our valuable input, leading to some improvements and changes to the moderation.

 

Answer to the original question
