Shit I wish I was retired so I could a) have the time to read that and b) have the time to write that

Is this really worth the time and effort your putting into it? Everyone is well aware of your disgruntlement with UAS, no matter in which context :D

    Well Bary

The definition of slander against a business is something said that is both damaging and false to put is simple, and you have clearly done both. I think you have more experience in this area than you do with physics and mechanics. Let?s just put it down to flexing incorrect or guessed at information, however sailing close to the wind. I appreciate anyone?s input if it sensible and aiming at a positive outcome not simply destructive.

Q1 I have advised too much on product already, which has potential to be copied and quite clear with you at least that information is dangerous, and easily twisted. The O Rings and everything else is the same as Fulcrums final design. I have explained many times of the better fixing systems only which Ross understands and agrees with. Testing very valid silly statement. Ross has a problem with any aftermarket control arms with bearings.

Q2 Who gave you this totally false information you or your dreams? I in fact did the right thing by Graham ( the boss of Fulcrum) and ask permission to use his design and get made in Australia which he did. The last four emails I sent to Graham about these arms many months ago, were chasing ETA for them to be made. We had a firm price, with a small percentage variance due to the exchange rate at the time as being made OS. He is very busy and it was not looking good. Who knows might have his by now might still be waiting. I pulled the pin. Keep shooting blanks Barry.

Q3 At no time to Terry Bosnjak or anyone else there or at Fulcrum express their concerns about being suitable for road use and wear. If someone heard something and passed on aversion to you which is clearly at least partly wrong or confused then twist away. As I mentioned previously, I questioned this potential wear to both companies. They are the engineers, not me so. Tests back it up.

maTTz and Tecktrader I will make mention in the correct thread.

You can sue for slander now John. A case was won recently where a kid was sued for bad mouthing a copper on facebook. IMO this is much more damaging than simplly that. Personally, I wouldn't stand for this as a business owner

    More inuendo, more bullshit.
I am so over this and your constant put down of anything UAS.

All this because JP once told you to put your drink down.
good advice you should have taken imo.

I'm another who wonders how the mods justify the free rein your given? i have my own thoughts on this.

And like Chili, i'm another who is questioning whether i need to attend the upcomming Zed Fest as the camaraderie once prevalent on this forum has long since flown out the window for mine:(.

My one question to you Barry, not involved in the GB.

Q1 Why are you so passionately asking these mostly silly questions about something that is nothing to do with you, clearly have no input from experience, training, and clearly not helping the cause? The Truth now Barry, no smoke and mirrors or jingles. Snookered or Check Mate, I say whichever way you answer. Henpecked has a script for you, or just use most of his hilarious addmission of plain truth in an early post in this thread. Fairly obvious but see if you are man enough to answer it.

Correct they have hard Nylon black bushes, that wears out. Bad design. Most don't know or check this, and not easy for most. Our ZTT 95 model, low k gem front cut we are currently wrecking, no suprise has flogged out top front control arms, most everything else on the car is fine BTW.

I've stayed OUT of this until now

Frankly, the whole debate is now way over-the-top! Senior members should have been able to discuss issues via PM or at least sensibly within this new thread. Barry DOES NOT enjoy any more privilege than Lloyd, JP or you, Ron.

I have remained out of the GB debates , apart from deleting posts and infracting Barry, until now. I am not a GB participant and since the GB items are now shown up as clearly 'for track use only', all protagonists should butt out!

Further PERSONAL attacks will lead to instant bans. :bash:

    Thats not the way

I see it, this bloke has been free to run his mouth off and slag Jp and his business at every oportunity, clearly in breach of the forum guidelines.
like you i'm not part of the group buy and have refrained from entering into debate on it.
I'm just over the way this member is constantly alienating members with his bias against UAS.

I think people should pay attention to ZedEx

above. The guy on facebook charged with criminal defamation said a whole lot less what has been said about UAS.

JP, perhaps the keenest Zed owner in the land, could cane several of you into bankruptcy if he were that kind of guy.

Struth remind my engineer mates never to try and develop something for a zed! :(:(

Matt, These are my opinions based on engineering principles. They are for better or worse correct.

As I said earlier. The application of any of these sorts of products are totally outside the control of UAS or any other maker for that matter.

Forward and back movment of the radius rod WILL NOT DO THESE ARMS ANY FAVOURS. Same as all the other bearing/ball race based arms on the market.

However, up and down movement will not trash the UAS arms like it does to all other bearing based upper arms. This is why I very keen to get mine. They are unique and needed.

Really? I can't see any info to this effect from anyone remotely informed on the subject.

As a mod you are the last person who should be fanning the flames.

    standards

why hasn't anyone mentioned the fact that if they were to be approved for road use, as in legal, wouldn't they have to be sent to all sorts of government standards departments and pass rigorous testing procedures ?

This may go over your head, but I'll give it a go.

The differences between the current version and the prototype are minimal.

Yes there is the change from the grub screw arrangement to cotter pin. This has been explained at some length, however in the interest of clariy can be summarised as the cotter pin is more secure.

As far as welding, you are a little off the mark. The previous prototype design was MIG welded. The production version is notched and dowl pinned at one end, and uses a ball/cup fitment at the other, and is TIG welded. TIG welding is lighter and neater and used in all up-market production. Boutique items seldom feature TIG welding due to the high cost of equipment.

Material is clearly specified in the relevant thread. The production version has been tempered and case hardened to improve strength, and Zinc coated to improve finish.

Do you understand that there are no circumstances where these improvements to the production run can decrease function? A more secure fixing system, stronger joins, and [/b]harder[/b] materials (not to mention nicer finish) is better every time.

UAS have had and continue to have a long professional relationship with Fulcrum. Who specifically at Fulcrum did you speak to (if anyone...) and does the director know you are representing the company? This really doesn't warrant further discussion.

Again unsubstantiated heresay? Who is this person?

I am well aware that Ross speaks to one of the machine workers at Bosnjack. Funnily enough the employee concerned was very quick to distance himself from Ross's negative comments. So either there is another mystery man or one or both are full of it.

Anyway Baz this is not so much for your information as that of anyone else trying to sort fact from fiction.

I am somewhat flattered that you have devoted so much time and energy to discrediting UAS. Your motivations unfortunately are all too transparent.

You are talking about ADR complied, and I believe others are talking about suitability for use in a road car.

In terms of ADR complied, thay are not and have never been advertised as being so. No other aftermarket suspension components are ADR complied. ADR compliance would be a time consuming process and bump up the price considerably...

As far as suitable for a street car well that is all in the eye of the beholder. They certainly will not wear or require more frequent servicing than any other adjustable front suspension arm on the market. They will not wear or fatigue or develop play like other aftermarket (or stock) suspension arms. Yes some parts will wear as in any moving part, bushes will need replacing as with any suspension component. However due to the design these will not be subjected to the same loads as a conventional (midori or stock or stillen type) camber arm and service life should be increased significantly. Further more all parts are serviceable unlike other aftermarket arms.

Excuse the sales pitch, but you asked... :)

It would cost us a heap more for these arms if they were ADR complied.(hundreds more )
I for one think its not needed , they look to be over engineered if anything.
Doubt the cops or pits would take a second look at them.

    Also Barry with regards to

There are eight pieces that make up these arms, pictured below. I have looked at the picture and scratched my head for ages and I see no spacers, no o-rings, and no countersunk parts? So what the **** are you on about??
