Yeah I'm spoiling her, I want her to be as reliable as possible.
Also, haven't had another compression test just yet, need to organize it with Eddy.
And no problem ryzan, I'll take some more engine bay shots, and I'll get that sticker shot for you too :)

It's good that you're doing the preventive maintenance. Some people buy good cars and don't put oil in them. You're going to make her a reliable cruiser if you keep going like this.

Cheers man, I'm just waiting to get these spark plugs and connectors so the service can finally be done!
    Then comes my exhaust ;)
I'm thinking about buying the 3" Fujitsubo's that Lovic is selling so I can use them while I save for my real exhaust =D

First off, gotta say congrats on finding your zed mate! that wait is always well worth it on these kind of cars :) pitty bout the auto tho :p

imo nissan midnight purple is one of the best factory colours around, you should be stoked :D

glad to see you are doing the right thing in giving her a good service/once over. im still ironing out the previous owners blunders on mine a month later :p

ive been wanting to ask this also, during you hunt for a zed did you ever come across the one i brought? the seller lived near keilor, thought you might of snapped it up before i had the chance :p

    happy zedding :zlove:

He liked to screw things... Literally :(

funny story, mate brought a zed only to find just under 2l of oil in the sump!!!

And midnight purple is probably my all time favourite colour on a zed, missed buying a mint 97 when I was looking , biggest mistake I made.

Woahh, can I ask why you passed it up?

Because it was 17k with less than 40 thou kays on it, money wasnt the problem though its that I really wanted an ausspec back then and it had the tt bar on it so I thought it had been in an accident. Later on I learnt though that the last of the zeds that didnt have the 2k spec fronts all had tt front bars on em. Was a series after yours bracket :p with the red steering wheel and shifter from factory and even had the factory bucket seats in it. Would've loved to have bought that car.

You seem like a pretty cool kid add me on the facebooks bro.

previous owner lived in gladstone park, made it easy for me to fly in and pick it up  i reckon it musta been on and off carsales for a good 10 months, got her for a good price ;)

best part about these cars is fixing all those little things that have been left neglected by previous owners, thats if your into d.i.y of course ;)

    Ahh yes, that Z!
I called the owner of that Z repeatedly to try and organize a viewing/test drive, but he was impossible to deal with for me. Also, he didn't seem like he knew much about his Zed, but it's great that you got your hands on one that your happy with! I look forward to you restoring it in all it's glory :zlove:

Wow, sounds like one hell of a Zed! Would have loved to see it.
It's too bad you didn't buy it, but you live and learn right??

And I will add you on facebook :)

Haha thanks man, your welcome to come check her out anytime :)
If your coming on the GOR, I'll be there, so you can have a look then.

It feels weird being in a head turner... I usually have the targas off and the windows down with the music blaring! So I hope people don't just think I'm a tool :p

    Pod Filter

So it's been ages since any updates, I've been away on schoolies and been so busy with everything that I haven't had time to do anything!
After the GOR run on Sunday, I stayed with a few friends up in Anglesea for a few days. On the way back to Melbourne, I stopped off at the Zed Shed to have a chat with Bryan about my Z.
After a bit of a chat, he recommend a few things, one of those things was to install a Pod Filter. I took his advice and went out and got the Pod Filter he recommended.

Then started with taking off the nose panel.

After that, the T-Pipe came out, then the Air Box with much much swearing! Those two screws behind the front bar that hold the air box in are a hassle to get too, but we got to them in the end :)

    The culprit screw!!

Me trying to get it undone, mates took advantage of me

Once everything was out, we test fitted the Pod Filter, but it wouldn't fit due to the rubber mat that was blocking it. So we cut a hole into it so the Pod Filter would fit :)

The filter then went on :) Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture with the actual Pod Filter in, so I'll get on it tomorrow.

Took her for a drive afterward, and what a DIFFERENCE! She seems much more responsive and rev happy, it's great. Amazing at what $60 can do ;)

Until the next update, hopefully that will be the Coil Pack Connectors and Spark Plugs which I still haven't had a chance to do!!

    Cheers, Dean.

Id have just left the plastic splashield intact... keeps from getting stray water up onto the pod in heavy rain, can just rotate the t pipe to make everything fit nicely, or just take the plastic bit out, its two screws.
