As tony said probably but it would require wiring in new plugs to fit the newer style TPS.

I hate when people screw cheap shite into their interior trim. GPS and Neons! Was this guy building KITT?

It really ruins the car. It doesn't cost much to buy used parts to replace them but it's the hassle of finding and replacing them.

Good on you for making a to-do list. It really helps with getting through all the fiddly things.

The other option is re-covering it with something else.

A good interior trim guy may also be able to fill those holes to a point where it's hard to spot. Good car stereo installers in your area may know someone who can do it. Saves you pulling your dash out.

it'll probably be a good idea dean, that when you get the service done, makes sure they use an actual oil flush before they dump the old stuff.
oil being in there for 2+ years stopping and starting all those times would indeed make the oil a thick sludgy mess.
and for the 10 odd bucks it cost for one and the 10 minute wait is worth it, specially since it sounds like you have a lifter problem, you know the galleries on those lifters are really not that big when the oil becomes the equivalent to something like 25-50w.
also try giving it some high octane or some fuel cleaners for a tank, knowing the past of it, it'll probably be full of carbon(your rings could be varnished/carbon stuck)

By the way, your wait seems well deserved, pity its a auto thou.
Im intrigued what the green toggle switch is for? (wish i could find a stupid asian to by a car of and not just parts)

Might not be that bad. It might be just a bad seal on either of Cyl # 1 valve seats, which can be just a bit of carbon sitting on the seat and stopping the valve from closing properly. At worst, the valve will need to be reseated (regrind, which means head off), but sometimes they spontaneously clear, especially after a good long country drive.

    Good luck with it.

Cheers for the advice mate, it will defiantly be getting the oil flushed and replaced. Once the service is done, I'm going to work on getting it back up to scratch. After that, then the mods come ;)

Also, the green toggle switch was to control to 5 LED lights he had in the foot wells, heater vents and in the center console...

    Little update.
I removed the LED lights from the interior. Was a little harder than I originally thought haha, but it was done.
I also found that while putting the LED's in, he really damaged the main part of the interior (Above the center console), not sure what it's called. I'll be trying to source a new one asap.

So guys, just another little update.
She's going in for a full service tomorrow; Oil Change, Oil Filter, Air Filter, Tranny Fluid, Tranny Filter and Diff Oil Change.
I'm still in the process of getting my spark plugs and coil pack connectors from Caz... Haven't got a reply to my email yet.

Would these be suitable for me?

Also, are these the correct NGK Plugs that I need? (If not I'll get them from Supercheap/Autobarn/Repco)

i donno if your later model one would have the same connectors as ours. and usually when the connectors start to need replacing, you get a fair warning because over weeks if not months it'll start to missfire a lil and usually only on one at a time(rarity for more then a few to be bugger all at the same time at first), any how you ll get a fair warning and have heaps of time have you ever need to replace the coil plugs.

you can buy the same spark plugs from super cheap or auto barn, but id dare say you'd be paying upwards a bit more in price.
(and dear good hope you removed that out of place, in the way toggle switch and put in a simple little blanking plug in)

by the way , when are you turning 18?

Just a bit of an update guys, got her back from the service today, and it's great.
They flushed the engine oil out and replaced it with full synthetic oil, oil filter, front disks machined, new front pads, new wipers, new coolant and engine oil stop leak (to help with the tiny rear main seal leak.)
I've got the Spark Plugs on the way, as well as the coil pack connectors, so that will be the last of my servicing for now :)

Sounds like your spoiling her. Did it fix your compression issue?

If possible, could you take a few engine bay photos. Interested to see if the car's still fitted with egr, aiv etc. Also a picture of the emissions compliance sticker on the bonnet would be good :)
