Looks beautiful!! Just shows what the quality of the Vinyl's like being ab;e to cling under that lip so neatly! Good job!
Cheers again, ill PM you later tonight with more details about thingo. I was planning on doing the bonnet today but im still really sick. Its subsiding so hopefully tomorrow i can. Ill also try to stick the rubber boot trim down and the infill panel tomorrow...we'll see. Just a few other little things, i got an OEM gear knob (thanks mafi-zed) and im looking at clear reflectors and indicators front back and sides. cheers, matt.
Bonnet Have lots of updates tonight so iv split it up. I have also done a good amount on the infill panel but ill save it all for when its done. This is the bonnet, took me about 3 or so hours not rushing ofc. Started by taking out the jets. Prepped the surface and had the roll of vinyl cut off to the side there. Left side first was the plan, peeled it back and cut the backing paper off. This is how i leave the edges until im ready to trim. I made a huge mistake on the hatch by being dumb. i popped the hatch with the edges stuck to other body bits and it ripped park of it. i ended up starting again later on anyway but was a lesson learned. bit of a midway progress pic. Another progress pic after the first half was done. That side glided on so easy, took me maybe 15 mins. The other side took me about 1.5 hours..once you get one bit out of shape your screwed you have to meticulously lay every inch. Its hard to explain but that's just how it is, no avoiding it. Ready to be trimmed. Finished! Looking hot. Once again the pics fail, i promise ill get someone with a good camera to take some when i can. Im liking the 2 tone look and its gonna stay like this for a few weeks i think, until i get a front bar and skirts. thanks for reading again guys, until next time.... matt.
Selling offcuts! Also.. had someone contact me who was interested in some of my offcuts. If anyone else would like a fairly good amount (worthy of posting and paying for) let me know. Some of the cuts are very big, well over a meter. Ill post up a pic later of them all and see if i get any bites. cheers, matt
Infill Panel + Rubber Trim Over the last week iv been doing little bits here and there on this in between the bonnet. Its been slow but its a good turn out. Ill have to take some better pics in the daylight and in good weather (its raining here). Ill post up all the pics as per usual but what do you guys think of the rubber trim? Ill call it custom for now..but its really not  This is the rubber im on about. The hollow bit is squishy and can press up against the tail lights bit. Put on some packing so if you want to have a little press on the panel it wont sink in. Get the rubber on dad! Hammer it on, it has little reverse teeth, similar to how an arrow works so its not easy to pull off. Couple of close up pics of the end. You can see when its shut the rubber sits nice a flush with everything and its slightly pressed down making a good seal. Stuck the panel on with sikaflex-227 and then used backing paper and tape to hold it on. The reason for this is i dont want tape on my vinyl, the glue is hell to get off. Dark blurry pic, but you get the idea. Ill take some better ones later. Thats all for tonight, ill definitely take some more/better pics outside tomorrow and get them up. If you want more into on anything or about that rubber let me know what you think. until next time.. matt.
will be window mounted, inside of the glass. also... Found this before, it is a toy but its pretty sweet. I think its going to be similar to this minus the kit. :br::br::br:
pics of offcuts. If anyone is interested in any of these pieces let me know. There is a can in the middle there to give you a rough idea of size but if you want exact measurements im more than happy. I also have some larger squares that someone already has interest in but im sure ill have more bigger pieces in the future. I can post them if your really keen but they might not be worth putting into a tube some of the smaller bits, up to you again. I would prefer pickup, im located in tallebudgera on the gold coast and i can put pieces on too if that suits you. This stuff does all interior as well, i did my ashtray as a test and ill put a pic up later. cheers, matt
update + future plans Some offcuts have been sold. ill always have pieces just PM with what you need. I also just got a big burst of cash so the things i want and will look into over the next few weeks are: -matte black rims -window tint -front bar -full wrap(obviously) cheers, matt
ill get round to the tails at some point haha. not sure about front bar..i like greddy/UAS. any suggestions on a good place to get a quality bar that fits properly? cheers, matt
eBay seller MyBodyKits sells a gReddy front bar for $280 + shipping (~$80) which Chrispy reports I was going to get one 'til I messaged Attila and he sold me his (already painted) one. Can't find the listing for it atm, but search "300zx bomex" on eBay.au every few days and you'll pick it up (moron didn't seem to get what I said when I told him it wasn't Bomex). matte black gReddy would look mean
I am familiar with this ebay seller, i havnt bought anything from him/her but iv been digging through old posts and some people have some ok things to say about his kits. im still really hesitant though, wondering how high the bar will sit, pics would be best.. i still want to get some tint done, whats 35% all round worth roughly? and for the rims im thinking sandblasted and then spray myself in 2pak(people think is the best). matt.
