soarers are awsome cruise cars. but stef its been a while scnce iv reseqarched. have they come up with a device 2 compleatly convert that screen into english?
Not to my knowledge. I got a manual ($45 for a photocopy from a guy in manly) and i managed to set a reminder (no idea for what), but on the day, the screen displayed a message. Trip computer is OK, but the screen to change the radio stations takes forever. Not to mention it is next to impossible to put a proper radio in. That screen is my main concern with the car.

Yeah but I think he has finally realised a lot of the hype is rubbish though, weight to weight they are similar, auto to auto are similar etc. Overall the main difference is ones a sports tourer and ones a sports car, both are damn nice in different ways as Stef mentioned, both react very well to basic mods and can be real weapons on the street if done correctly especially the 1jz soarer. Many stockish TT auto zeds here are running mid 12's now with MT drag radials. The rest comes down to personal choice, some people think the zed is a bit dated now while others think its time less. These views will always exist between car makes and models and its a way of life. All the best Avenish
since when is a soarer 1560kg.. i thought it was around 1650kg for the tt and 1710kg or so for the v8..

thanks bud, i know i bashed the zed a bit but i do like it i just bashed it coz sum people were bashing what i like at the moment......the zed doesnt look old to me it is nice

i thought slicktop zeds were only just 1500.. yup just check 1496 or something... still thats assuming every single soarer you come up against is the most light weight model... which would also mean it would have very few creature comforts, while ours still have alot... HAH
yea lack of back seats haaaa.........n the only creature comfort missing is the sun roof rest is small stuff like rear wiper an spoiler
The fact that the fastest 1/4 mile time on the soarercentral.com list is only a HIGH 9 second run prooves that the 300ZX is quicker. Even the original 300ZX (Z31) can run quicker times than that down the 1/4 with some work, some are even in the 8's and there's a drag prepped one that runs 7's in Puerto Rico... The Soarer isn't even in the same league as the 300ZX (Z31 or Z32) and the Supra is the only Toyota you can compare it to. Go and compare the Soarer to the Nissan Maxima for an accurate real life comparison lol
pfft a 2+2 manual targa weighs 1560kg, a 2 seater manual slicktop weighs in the vicnity of around 1450kg. more torque, less weight.. more nimble.. oh boy its like shooting fish in a barrel
No it doesn't. It proves no-one has modified one enough to go faster. You can turn any car into a drag queen if you try hard enough. Who really cares anyway. I'm sure the Soarer is a nice car, I always thought the silvia, skyline, supra etc. people posted crap about the Zed because they were insecure about there own cars. I thought we were above that kind of sh!t, looks like I was wrong.
