Whitenight the series one PTU's have a corrugated silver(aged silver ) front cover about the size of a cigarette packet and the series 2 PTU has smooth black cover and is a little smaller..
Ok. So if i find i have a S1 PTU.. but the car isnt currently having any faults.. should i upgrade anyway just for the sake?
Its your call. But a 15 year old known to go faulty eventually unit. maybe should be replaced sooner rather than when it strands you.
Connectors Not sure if people have noticed but the connectors are in a seperate group buy as I am supplying the connectors and Graham is organising the ECU's through his supplier. Please go here for the connector group buy: http://www.perthzperformance.com.au/product_info.php?products_id=90
I just realized I made a typo on my account details. Please have a look above cause I got Stuart to correct it. My apologies to the people who paid into the wrong account. If there are any fees, please deduct them from the payment when you put it back into the correct account. Graham
OK, so I have now deposited into the wrong account. Where do I stand ???? Are there any bank employees out there??? Advice please. Cheers, Peter
bank mix up I have also made payment last night before getting the message about the wrong account number. Went to my bank this morning and payment had already gone through. I then went to ANZ bank to check the account number given....and they said it is an invalid account.....so I assume the payment will bounce and the money will be credited back to my account. A lot of drama and phone calls. If the account was a valid account then you have to fill out forms and pay a $30 fee to get your money back. Also can take up to 60 days. I will wait till the money is back in my account before trying again. Appreciate that you are providing a good deal for Auz300 members, but a small error like that could end up costing u a fair amount of money and aggro. Regards Peter
They should work because Tektrader has cross-referenced the part number of the series 2 PTU you buy in kit form against the PTU that the Skylines use and topher reckons his father uses a Skyline PTU in his Zed300. I had a look at my son's R33 PTU and it looks the same as the one in COZ's online catalogue. People should be awarew though that if they are going to locate the PTU in its original position then they will need some sort of adaptor plate (see COZ's site for his adaptor). Perhaps someone who owns a series 2 ptu can elaborate but it may be that the back of the series 2 PTU is metal and requires being bolted to a plate that can then act as a heat sink (series 1 have aluminium ribs on front to get rid of heat). My sons PTU is bolted to a metal plate which is bolted about 30mm above the engine for heat dissipation perhaps - not sure.
Yep. I just spoke to ANZ and they gave the same answer. Money should bounce back in 48 hrs. Cheers, Peter
Put me down for three units Tektrader. Never know when you may need a spare. I have a 95 so dont really need the connector kits but put me down for 3 also just in case someone gets stuck one day. Or are the connectors a different thread. Cheers J
