aaah cheers curnz. looks like i got series 1, so how do i know if its failing... i guess ill just replace it anyway huh
i installed a series2 ptu a couple of weeks ago as it seemed my series 1 was breaking down, not really sure, but it has made a big difference to how smooth the engine runs, i reckon a series2 is a good cheap investment even if your series1 hasn't failed yet
Had to go to the wreckers to pick up a few small things. The PTU is out of an R33. LMAO he wanted $150 for a second hand one
I'll have one of those with the connectors. Yay! cheap as chips! I know mine is on the way out, so this is perfect!
OK lets get started, Payment of $125 per PTU is to a BSB 013442 Acc 535782109 (Note... Due to a typo the Account Number has been changed please check your records ) ANZ bank Graham Johnson In the comments field please put your AUS300zx screen name so I can track the payments. Then send me an email at grahamrjohnson@yahoo.com when you have paid and advise postal address etc. I am working on the connectors ATM so they will lag by a week or so. I think maybe Zrated will supply them in a separate buy. I am in correspondence with him. Lets get it rolling !!! P.S. delivery is around 3 weeks. I hope to place the order Tuesday next week, so get into it. Graham
Besides the fact that the Series 1 PTU is more prone to stop working compared to the series 2 PTU, is their anything else to gain from this? I mean if you have a series 1 that is working fine, is their any reason to change? eg: performance etc. cheers
There have been reports of a much steadier idle as well as better acceleration. But as I havent had a car to compare before to after I dont know.
