How did you get that plastic bit out? The part you had to cut a hole in for the suspension covers? I tried that the other day on my 2+2, figured we'd have to take out the entire back half of the interior to get those bits out :\
That's where we stopped. When we figured you'd have to take out the seatbelts to get the trim piece from either side of the seat out.
It looked like the trim would have to come off, the stuff surrounding the quarter window and all that. And the seatbelts went into that trim.
you don't have to pull out the seat belts or the trim below the 1/4 windows, just pull the end of it up for access that trim piece slots over the bases of the seat belts they are not removed.
So as a few of you guys would know I finally got my exhaust sounding how i wanted it. I achieved this by replacing this: With this: A zee's centre muffler thanks to Rod. Anyway I was happy. Then last night after having a hoon around Mt Dandenong, I noticed a change in noise, it was a little quieter and the loud resonance i would get at 2k revs was gone. I shrugged it off as maybe it was a "bedding" in sort of thing. However this was not the case, I had a look under the car today and noticed this: I'm not entirely sure how this happened, but at a best guess it was hit by something, then exploded or it just did it under the heat and stress factor. Any one else have an idea? Pretty disappointed but then again in doesn't sound like a complete tractor. So I'm not entirely sure on what to do.. Spend more money and get a replacement hoping it will sound the same, Or do some bodgy shit a reweld..
hahahah! my UAS x-pipe, 1.5 weeks of age. time to get that exhaust tucked my friend. I did, completely worth the money for the extra ground clearance. Could be the photo but I don't see black soot all over the crack? may just be cosmetic.
I told the exhaust guy to get it high as possible, may be due to the fact i still need new front pipes made up. Defs not cosmetic, has gas coming out. Although i will double check now
probably something to do with the Zees centre muffler being crap. Hard to believe something that looks like it was made by Timmah qualifies for such an apparenty "reputable" exhaust. My zees catback is extremely poor fitting and hangs disgustingly low. Sorry, but if I had a spare stock catback, I would have fitted it instead.
Yes, indeed. Not the best welding ive seen for all the things ive heard. Really? Mine doesnt sit terribly low, and it fitted straight up to the cats, Hangers and all. But whats been done to it before it was in my hands is out of the question. and as for the stock exhaust thats a Nope, it was binned when I first got the exhaust done. Didnt even get the option to keep it..
So yestreday we attempted to patch up the muffler with exhaust putty, looked to hold fine butt that was short lived. It lasted 5 miniutes before blowing another big hole in the putty. So today we took of the center section and welded a plate around the hole. Booked in for new front pipes (again) on Thursday. On another note, turns out I have gutted cats! Kinda a pain in the arse as now I have to explain to dad that they are gutted, and that I NEED new ones.. He is convinced that I dont need to worry about it. He is so obsolete and does not listen to me... I dont want to be stuck with a huge arse fine. Anyone got any lying around i could pick up cheap? after market or stock..
Front exhaust pipes Well today the final piece of my exhaust was put together, After a 9 hour job, Undoing the bolts was the most time consuming piece. Was worried about the studs snapping from the stock headers. So its all tucked up a bit better now. New rails for the recaros rocked up today, no more dodgy rails! Annd got some front tension rods for one more piece of adjustability! Robbo.
is your dad really going to be happy about being called obsolete? im sure someone still needs him, hes not a egr for christs sake lol. you must mean, hes "so absolute" hehehe
