I love this thread...it has all the opinionated, keyboard ninja, whinging, beetch slapping that I've come to love and appreciate from this forum.

(not directed at the OP btw)

Hey Anthony, as I've said previously, if you don't want it in that despicable, disgusting state in which you would be silly to ever want to keep the thing, I'll take it off your hands free of charge. Can even throw in a veilside rear bar ;)

    Exactly

All the whinging and moaning from those not even in the group buy.

    Benny_C About as subtle as...

^^ So going by these comments, i'm assuming you guys are suggesting people that weren't directly involved in the group buy - but still posting up their thoughts/opinions for a resolution aren't helping this thread. Right?

How have you contributed to this then?

It's all about helping and supporting other members that have been screwed over in one way or another. By this thread, AND others also posting here has let us know there are more than one case of a product being supplied by UAS (and NOT by rob260, as he did his part of the job just fine), with insufficiently packaged goods for interstate transport that has caused damage upon arrival.
Hopefully peoples comments on here puts some pressure on to have this actively resolved quickly and to satisfaction to all effected INVOLVED parties. (which i'm sure it will). :zlove:

    No.

Thats not what my post was about. Peoples thoughts and opinions are what a forum is about, unfortunately, as the temperature of a topic increases, the more it resembles the boost cruisin forums, and in turn they no longer assist a thread.

Quite right Ron, but if you thought about it a little deeper you would see that they are probably disguised expressions of relief that they weren't in the Group Buy, and there is nothing invalid about that. You know "There but for the Grace of God....."

The point of the thread was to get a solution for a member that I am sure he wouldn't have got on his own, as well as providing a Forum of information for anyone contemplating participation in a Group Buy down that channel.

I am looking forward to hearing that NVZ32 has been sorted. Then we can have a look at Romonski's situation. :)

If UAS sorts out the other damaged bar, I would be confident that the same will apply to any other units that suffer a similar fate.

I wonder how many of the participants in this GB would have happily forked out another $80 to $100 for packaging and additional freight, if asked to do so at the outset? Discounted costing seemed to be prominent in making the purchase.:zlove:

    If i thought

Any deeper, "Auguste Rodin" would have modeled me in bronze instead.
Think your trying to take credit for something that is being sorted out by the parties concerned.
your kidding yourself if you think JP takes any notice of what's printed on here by the usual haters.
As in any business deal thats gone wrong, there are the correct avenues to take so that a satisfactory result can be achieved by both parties,
Which as i understand it is in motion.
No amount of whinging and bleeting by members of a car forum will change anything, unfortunate that it has happened, but i'm sure it will all be resolved to all concerned:).

If that is accurate then that is a terrible attitude to have.

Suppliers on this forum reap the benefits of free advertising for years and a captive market. For selling 300zx bits this is the single best place to do it. The forum is provided and the members are here, suppliers are given free advertising for parts and services and in turn all that is asked of them is that they do not dick people around or they will be held accountable by the masses.

As a business owner i would be very concerned if my reputation was getting trashed on a forum and i would take the steps to make it right. Thats being in business and thats professionalism. You take the good with the bad.

Its threads like these that put pressure on suppliers to do the right thing and keeps them honest. And im saying this as someone who sells alot on here. Zedders are a fickle bunch and in my experience will not get stuffed around. Ive always had that in my mind and the knowledge that an unsatisfactory situation for a customer can turn into bad press on a website full of 300zx owners.

When UAS is mentioned in a bad light it seems to strike a nerve with alot of NSW members and thats understandable. But nobody is perfect, they make mistakes just like everyone, whats important is the solution

I don't call this post a valid complaint about receiving damaged goods.http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1183372#post1183372[TIS]

You seem to have missed the point man.

The haters already had their keyboards firing crying at the injustice of it all before there was any opportunity of a response from UAS. We have people crying for blood from Rob, from UAS, and then bring on the in-fighting of our own population on differing views and experience, how is it going to benefit the OP in getting a resolultion?

My Post, and Wizards following post was more directed at how threads like these always disolve into a mess and nobody wins. UAS's involvement is with the original poster, and standard steps are being taken to resolve the issue correctly. The majority of the 90 odd posts (ours included) are of little benefit.

Now to get on the bullshit bandwagon. This is obviously a case of QLD vs NSW superiority complex from you lot (You, Mike, Chrispy and Benny), and we're taking Origin this year.

I generally agree with the views you have expressed, however, professionalism is also about dealing "one on one" with the aggrieved customer without the public hysteria generated by one party deciding to try and gain extra leverage by posting on here. Business dealings should be between two parties and should be in confidence, not a public shit fight. That is professionalism.

The time for publicly denouncing each other may be after all reasonable attempts to obtain a solution have failed(but is still not a beneficial means of settling a problem).

I should point out that from time to time, some of the less than delighted "anti UAS" whingers ARE NSW residents.
There are numerous times when they also appear to emerge from "North of the Border"(your good self, not included:)), so comments in that area are a little suspect IMHO.
Arguments and accusations as to whether or not this GB is "legal" are vexatious at least(and slanderous at worst)and have no valid place in this thread.
It could be foolishly argued that, 'If a buyer knowingly enters an improper deal for the purpose of obtaining a financial advantage, then any loss or damage suffered rests solely on the Buyer'.

I don't suggest that this is the case, I merely give this example of just how utterly time-wasting and unhelpful it can be when "soapbox Lawyers" decide to throw "Red Herrings" into the stew.:(;)

What i completely agree with here lloyd is that dispute resolution should begin in private first and only made public if a satisfactory result has not been reached. A supplier should have the opportunity to rectify an issue without having their name dragged through the mud. Im not sure if this applies to this particular case as i dont know the timeline. But i have had to say it to my customers in the past too ,if they have an issue please bring it up with me in private first and so far i havent had any public situations like this and id like to keep it that way

I though that post was the clearist interpritation of the situation.

The simple fact is a "Group Buy" is not for profit.

That aside, when a business offers a product and a delivery cost, it is reasonable to expect that it arrives in good condition.

If proper packaging was to cost more it should of been quoted from the outset, that is the responsibility of the seller.

Personally I wouldn't accept a broken bar, what happens if the repair comes undone in 18months, then what ?

I think they should be sold off as is, to a local buyer at a reduced price or returned and replaced for a new bar.

Doing this would solve any future issues with the repair and buyers that have paid top dollar will have what they want.

The only down side is the cost to the seller, that's just part of business.

Then again the damaged bar could be used to make a mould.

I agree with the above, however in my honest opinion this thread is just getting silly. :/

    Facts:
    - Some damaged goods were received.
    - The items in question were not packaged properly.
    - The person complained on a forum where the value of the goods were appreciated, as they are entitled to do.
    - The supplier of the goods has said they will sort the problem out, as they are legally obliged to do.

So, what the hell is all the fuss about? If, as people claim, UAS doesn't care about the posts written about them here then I highly doubt they feel their organisation needs an army of people defending their e-honour and propagating this thread beyond what was a valid venting of anger to an understanding audience into a parade of the pros and cons of conducting online business.

People are perfectly entitled to their opinions, and are perfectly entitled to vent their anger on their favourite forums. To insinuate that people raising entirely valid complaints about items they received (with photographic evidence, mind you) is somehow poor form is just plain stupid. I don't know why anyone thinks jumping to the defence of a group that has already (from what I can tell) accepted responsibility for this error is somehow going to alleviate any appearance of fault, and for what it's worth, from my perspective the avid defence of a business by "uninvolved third parties" (for whom posting history often shows a contrast between how uninvolved they claim to be and exactly how "uninvolved" they aren't) has done nothing more than further the discussion and caused me, and presumably others, to go looking for other threads elucidating the errors the business may have made in the past.

TL;DR: Leave it be! This is a thread about a broken front bar and what can be done to ensure the owner is adequately compensated, not a history lesson on UAS, rob, or why everyone loves and hates online sellers and why eBay feedback is the devil. :p
