You mis-understand me, i'm not going around saying TT's are shit. Which a lot of members seem to be saying about NA's. That comment was pointed at the comments that say "tt's are better in every single way and NA drivers are pussies".

An angry NA sounds better than a stock tt. Aza's zed sounded awesome :br:[TIS]

Lol I assume you're kidding!
When the LS1 came out it was an oil burning, piston slapping under-powered for it's capacity piece of GM junk. They've had ~13 years to work on it so I'd hope they'd be on the right track by now.
Commodores don't dominate motorsport - They're shopping trolleys.
Naturally Aspirated cars are LIMITED to sucking air, they'll never compete with anything force-fed, they have a ceiling at which they won't make more power. The whole 'throttle response of the NA' thing is over-stated also. The RB26 was individual throttle body to overcome some of that I think. Best of both worlds. ;)

The original point of my post was not to create rivalries between 300ZX vs GTR, NA vs TT, Engine X vs LS1.

The whole point was questioning the NA in the first place. The answer to the question is the price point. At the time Nissan could not sell a car here with TT, Hicas, climate control, electric seats etc. Jeez the NA was something like $70K new.

I'm not putting down owners or their cars but I don't believe that there is 1 NA owner who could look honestly into their heart and not wish that they had a TT (Jedi77 excluded, but your NA was like your first girlfriend and you never get over that :) )

One of the early forum members always ended his posts with 'Peace Everybody'. Can't remember who it was but,

    Peace Everybody. :zlove:

Yep. My NA sounded better than all my TT's put together. It was a small victory though :)

Did it have a bigger sub bro 4 fully sik tunze? :p

If I were older and the NA was the only available option remembering that the internet didn't really exist then and the world was a bigger place, I'd have considered the NA if I were able to afford it. Ignorance was bliss back then. Nissan only sold NA z32 then why would I question the existence of a higher model?

70k is a lot of money. The 370, is around that I'd assume? its also NA, its higher powered engine is irrelevant. Who here would spend circa one hundred and ten thousand importing a TT model from Japan, if they existed?

I really want to know why Nissan didn't release the TT down here. Smaller population doesn't cut it imo.

Don't know, but we always get the watered down crap versions of everything here. Look at the ADM S15 with a whopping 147kw or something compared to the 180 odd KW JDM. What a joke that is! And the sequential auto MR2 Spyder instead of the 5 speed which isn't sold here... Markup is ridiculous on everything, I think the Aussie car market is just a big profiteering scheme.

Speed and acceleration is not everything.

The NA is in that respect much the same as any modern family car.
What it has on top of those is the handling and the looks.
So much more fun to drive than the wife's Honda.

The TT has the boost on top of that and it usually gives you a big kick.
Sometimes it scares the s#!t out of you and sometimes it gets you in trouble.

Both are great fun to drive. The TT feels lighter and more nimble and you dont have to work so hard in keeping up on the twisties.

I see very little difference in fuel consumption between the two.
I also see very little difference in maintenance,
but when you start upping the HP's you would greatly increase maintenance costs on the TT.

this argument can be concluded fairly easily.

while i don't want to come across all jeremy clarkson it's very simple. it's impossible psycholigically speaking, to own something that isn't as good as it can be and be 100% contempt. it's like buying the low end model then trying to justify it later.

having said that tho, there is a lot of elitism going on because come on, it's a sports car, it's all about boosting egos (no pun intended) and who wouldn't want to lord it over peasants in the lower model?

it's human nature and happens with any car really. you'd see a lot more of this on a falcodore forum where the V8 guys love ragging on the 6 pack people and even corvette forums where ZR1/Z06 owners diss base corvettes and the base owners dump money on TT/SC kits to try and hold their own.

I have 2 NAs, could comfortably afford a TT if I really wanted and have been on my full license for many many years but to be honest am not really interested.

    I'm odd though. :)

    Mitch Has one gear: GO

This is a good argument, assuming the driver actually has something to prove.
I drive my NA every day, have racked up around 120,000km in it since 2006. I don't drive it to pull chicks, race bogans, or look cool- it gets me from A to B, and it gets washed about as much as any other 20 year old car (not even once a month  ) I love that car, irrespective of the crunchy gearbox, lifter noise and leaky exhaust. When It dies, if I still need 2 zeds, I'll put another VG30DE engine in it- because it's easy, and it will work.
All the psychological babble about owning something second rate is BS, if the owner legitimates his purchase as a mode of transport as opposed to a raw horsepower machine.
And before someone calls my bluff on this, yes I have a TT also. Yes I bought it as a raw HP machine. And yes I bought an already modified one, because it was a sound economic decision at the time (economic decisions- now that's an area we haven't explored yet).

It wasn't really an argument, more of a statement to end this timeless debate topic.

I've trolled this forum for quite a while and there's a very predictable pattern. SRB2NV just drop it. I'm willing to bet you'll end up buying a TT like so many NA owners have come before you. Might be as soon as you get off Ps or might take you a few years after that, it will happen though. The ones who insist on arguing passionately in threads like this tend to be the ones most affected by the elitism of others. Perfect example would be lowzx and we all know what happened there.

There are exceptions of course and Peter Black I believe you are one of the few simply because you're eccentric. Big fan of yours btw mate ;)

You've lost your mind if you took anything i said seriously. Oh and i most likely WON'T be buying a TT Zed, but something else turbo ;)

Ask Chrispy how long his NA conversion lasted after spending a year dropping the thing in. [TIS]
