The bypass is a 15-20min job(using a new Ford Falcon hose or one of the existing heater hoses already on the car). I have done this job several times for other members, so there is no major issue in doing it.

Anybody who goes to the trouble of doing a core replacement(using a second hand core)is foolish to consider taking that risk, if a new item can be sourced at the time.
NO ONE wants to have to do it all again(after doing it once).:eek:

I'm using new parts. And the bypass isn't a fix. How povo does it look to have a car with no heater.

In my mind, the bypass is ONLY to help get you mobile/out of trouble, so you aren't stuck by the side of the road(or until you get time to do the proper repair). It is NOT an alternative to a full repair, in my opinion.:zlove:

agreed, bypass is a tempory fix, though many leave it bypassed for a long time. we can get away with no heater in WA most of the time, it gets cold, but not THAT cold lol....
