sorry to hear buddy. Unfortunately for people everywhere that seems to be too common an occurrence when it comes to Australia Post.
This would be my fault. Long story short I don't post things that often & the times I have I am always asked if I would like to pay for extra cover. I have never posted a 5kg express satchel before & when I took it to the post office and handed it over the counter the guy didn't ask me a thing (which I admit I found odd). So I asked him if that is it & was there nothing else I do, in which he replied no. This is where I am most p!ssed off with myself, I then assumed that it must automatically require a signature and be covered (again because I've never posted with a prepaid satchel before). Now that is has gone missing I have discovered it would have cost me an extra $1.25 for a sig and a further $7 to insure for $500. I opened a investigation into the missing satchel the day after it was supposedly delivered. I have no idea which way it will go, but I still p!ssed off this has happened!
Well now, turns out the chassis copped a hit that is beyond repair :-( Found additional damage unfortunately. May be able to pick up a slicktop shell locally. Just gotta workout what funds will permit regarding panel and paint required... Considering attempting the prep work myself and getting the spray job done at a panel n paint to save some $$. Pending respray costs... Should find out soon. Still plenty of bits to part n keep for the next shell so not a total loss. Can see the timeframe allocated blowing out significantly! On the upside, bought more bits (Pending delivery) n a few more I neglected to mention: UAS front bar UAS bonnet (unsure if I'll use this just yet) Nismo stainless steel gearknob Autometer boost and water temp gauge Ams radiator with spal fan, silicone hoses Knock sensor Oil pressure sender O2 sensors Custom 2.5" front pipes n high flow cats Hawk pads Pcv, aiv silicone hoses Z1 front silicone rad hard pipe couplings Huge FMIC - yup, purchased it back as I missed it Parts list is growing by the day it seems. Can't help myself! Hard pipes rocked up yesterday. Look pretty sweet although there were a few imperfections. Meh, they'll do the job and look the part at the same time Pics to follow shortly. Engine is to come out of Zed1 this coming weekend for some love. Sandblasting, scrubbing and painting along with a hefty shopping list from Coz coming soon! To sum things up, no zed at the moment and a mountain of parts. But number 22 is just round the corner!
3 weeks later and many pieces of poo looked at, i finally found my base car! 1990 NA Auto, Black Slicktop! She is very straight with a few pin dents and a faded roof. Other than that, one of the cleanest stock zeds I've seen in a long time! Previous owner had purchased the car April 2012 for $6500 with a stack of receipts and service history which were all passed on to me. Other extras included a Rockford 4 channel amp, eclipse splits, 6x4 eclipse in the rear along with an Alpine deck. Aftermarket exhaust which is shot to bits and sounds like poo and rims very nice speedy 18's that will come up nice with a clean n polish. Advertised for 3k but ended up paying $2500 and the owner (really nice bloke actually) was very happy to hear the future plans for the car. Being an NA Auto, it'll have pretty much all the running gear pulled out. The only thing that will remain is the rear end. Plenty of bits for sale from her to come soon! Gotta get around to getting rid of the wrecks to make room for the project! I smell a wreck a zed tech day coming real soon Oh, I should also mention i picked up a nice set of UAS FUCA's over the weekend to add to the parts pile as well as a Pirtek PS hose! Gotta place an order with Coz for all the lil bits and I'll be ready to go. Just booked a 7 day holiday today for around 4 weeks from now and an aggressive attack on the project will be on the cards. Updated parts list, more pics and parts for sale soon!
Looking good Jamie. When you have that partout day, let me know and I should be able to make it around. PS I'm still after that TT Condenser and Recirc's
Someone was wrecking a zed over here in WA n just soo happened they were on the wreck along with the pirtek ps hose Score!
haha would have purchased ur zed but it suffered a fatal blow unfortunately Such a shame. Soo many good bits on it. Stoked I held out for a slicktop tho and its in 732 black!
Well in a dramatic turn of events I now have a new harness on the way! Jono (SIM300), had entered into a wiring specialties competition. He won and has decided to donate the harness to me to replace the one Australia Post has lost! Words cannot describe how humbled I am due to Jono's generosity! Thanks soo much Jono! Ur an absolute legend mate! :zlove::zlove::br:
Saw this comp on fb. I would like to express the utmost respect for jono too. A lesson in generosity and mateship we can all learn from. Three cheers for this shining example of top bloke.
