    Update:

Well shed is finally cleaned out! The last of the wrecks was picked up on Saturday after the engine/box pull and strip and the project zed is finally in the shed on stands!

The week off seemed to be a little slow due to weather but managed to give the TT engine a clean up and a little love. (20 years of grease n gunk cleaned off with 2.5l of degreaser and 8 hours of scrubbing)

Pics really dont do the dirty engine justice. It was absolutely filthy!

Realized I'll need a few more bits. Seems every little thing I need from Coz turns into a $500 order! Manifold gaskets, oil pump, various little gaskets, belts etc etc.

Next up, drop subframe, gearbox, engine and fuel tank in preparation for underbody sound deadening :)

Zed number 23 is on the cards also... :-D

    Stay tuned!

its funny how everytime you do an order for a zed its atleast 500 bux

    motor looks like new!

Will have that subframe out for you very shortly!

Not a huge amount to report on and lacking pics as I'm sure many of you have seen engine pulls and all the boring stuff before...

Found a very rusty battery tray so a bit of cutting and welding is in order... :(

Managed to get the exhaust, rims, hatch, tails, rear bar, front bar, exhaust off to date. Engine/gearbox should be out tomorrow with any luck. Then onto stripping the interior and all the unnecessary engine bay bits. Adding additional sound deadening to the underside of the car as well as foam deadener behind each interior panel (I hate rattles and road noise) Topping that off with felt tape on the seams/edges of each plastic interior panel.

Should hopefully achieve a nice quiet ride!

Decided on a full respray of the car (closed door plus bay) also so once everything is stripped, I'll be sanding, filling and prepping!

Huge thanks to Simlenton for scoring me some paint too! Thanks mate! :D

On another note, picking up some slicks tomoz to go with my new helmet!

Freaking love how nasty that thing looks! Now... Just need some more black attire to complete the look :D

My old helmet is up for sale in the FS section if anyone is looking into trackwork/drags. ;)

Thats about it for now but will be updating the thread with all the fun stuff once the "build" actually gets underway.

I'm terrible at updating my build threads. Lots has happened over the past few weeks!

NA engine and auto box pulled:

Car has been (although the pics don't indicate) totally stripped externally including subframe, engine bay, crossmember etc. Everything is being sanded, filled and prep'd for painting. :D

As well as the above, I have purchased Ezzupturbo's big single turbo project!

    Engine specs as follows:

    Fully rebuilt
NA heads (new with TT exhaust valves)
    10.5:1 forged CP pistons
    H-beam rods
    GT3082 turbo
    Custom Manifolds

As the compression is high for a turbo engine, E85 must follow... Have also purchased Fuelab prodigy fuel pump, AN10 braided feed lines / AN8 return, AN10 filters pre and post pump, Top feed kit with 800cc Delphi injectors (Cheers Tekky), Flex fuel sensor, I/O expander for the Haltech and a Fuelab AN8 FPR.

Massive amount of work to come but it'll be well worth it. No idea of the power level to expect but going all out anyways.

So much for a basic build (as planned) haha. This thing should boogie with loads of torque!

Much more to follow as I'm sure things will take a bit of time to progress from here. I'll try update this thread more often. Almost ready for pics of the cool stuff so stay tuned!

Cheers for the advice mate. I had actually run these exact injectors on my last zed and they were great for me. Shame to hear about your issues tho :-(

    Anti 14.7 x 14.7 = 44.1

    This build just got sick

being second hand, and sitting around for years doing nothing, just get em cleaned and flow tested
and being top feed.. super easy to change!

can we get some pics of the single turbo kit?

Less than 1000 Km's from new, and only a year old, why bother? (ps I'm the new owner of the 740's)

I believe the injectors (Delphi top feeds) are actually brand new. However i may get them flow tested just to make sure. Might even set up a rig myself being top feed! Easy testing ;-)

Pics of the big single set-up to follow shortly! :br:

you going to get a bigger turbo?

    Chilledpain Z Reaper

Na, not at the moment. (No dyno queen here) :p Very happy with the specs on this particular turbo for street and strip as it should be super responsive. May look at something bigger down the track if I get bored tho! :br:

I'm sure once I crack 11's, I'll be chasing 10's so no doubt I'll be keeping an eye out for something huge to play with. Great thing about the set-up is turbo replacement is pretty easy whilst engine is in the car. :D

I was referring to the delphis, tektraders car was in the works for years, and never run, and purchased second hand by him to begin with..

had a set of brand new bosch indy blue last week that were down on flow about 10% before a clean (injector guy thinks they're stored in some sort of oil to prevent corrosion in storage) and one was a dud, down 30% in flow compared to the rest, resistance and everythings fine

indy blue's are old stock that you cant get anymore, so i know teyve been sitting around for a while

Yeah ur right mate. I'll get them flow tested just to make sure :)

you might find the 3082 a tad small TBH. I would swap it out for a Precision 6262.

PS Would you by any chance be interested in getting the mani copied? I've seen someone dodgy up a Y31 cima mani to fit but that one you have is a million times better

Hmmmm, guess I could always make some enquiries on having it copied. Could even run a GB pending interest. Dunno how cheap it would be to have it done tho... Will make some enquiries.

I actually love the size of the 3082 turbo. Coupled with the NA engine, it should perform nicely. I'm aiming for around 500rwhp with E85. I assume it should be achievable and be very streetable. :-D
