Just a thought. With the recent ship jumpers (for variouse reasons), some of which we could see coming, others (Ed for me) that were a bit of a shock, just wondered how many current zed owners think of themselves as being in it "for the long haul" We all go through moments of "meh should I just sell it" but the next drive usually blows that away so yeah.... whats the general feeling 1) No matter how much money she sucks up, shes mine for ever 2) Fleeting fancy
yeh especially with the value of them. i was meant to sell my na to help fund the tt but its barely worth it, and thats for a uni student working one day a week
Just had a month off the road with a combination of upgrades and repairs. Never once crossed my mind to sell and get something easier. It has been said that without pain and struggle their is no triumph.
Its gets to the point that you have thrown so much at it. YOU CANT AFFORD TO SELL IT. Many are there, and many bail before they get too far in the hole. At this point I have spent enough to buy a used 350Z. If it ever gets written off that is what I will buy.
a keeper.... had it for 7 years so far, not selling it. But its not my daily driver (thats the wifes car), its more of my hobby car..
In it for the long haul, got too much money invested (spent)! No loans or anything attached to the car so it's not costing me anything to keep it... That said it is just a car and at 24 there's alot of time left to find something more interesting. If selling the zed ever becomes the difference between being able to afford an xkr for example I'll be sorely tempted!
keep it at any cost , maybe not any cost but I've had 5 or six other car whilst owning my zed and I've always managed to keep it. But I agree with Techy, spent to much to sell it.
I'm definitely keeping mine... It would be heartbreaking to get rid of her.... such a good car and havent had any problems with her at all. Dont think i'd be in lil turtle's good books if i did....
eh... keeping. don't want to sell. it's gonna be a daily even when i buy another weekender. just won't be zed because 1 is more than enough headaches IMO.
I'm keeping mine! I wasnt allowed her in the first place (Dad nearly killed me when I got her), was gonna sell her for a more 'economical' car (driving an hour to and from uni and work everyday), crashed her (stupid forest), but still love her to pieces! I couldnt live without her and she is the main thing in my life at the moment! I used this as a reason for my now ex-bf! Hehe!
dad loved it.. mum killed me.. grandparents loved it more which was weird.. but they loved it as with the roof off they could turn sideways exiting the car.. grab the roof without the targas and lift themselves out (being old and all) lol... I thought that was amusing... It may not always be my big toy.. it may turn into my daily with something more powerful, newer and more $$ as my main toy... but it will always be my 1st love... will only get rid of it to a wreaker when i total it.. never sell it... and if heaven forbid i did sell it.. i would paint it a different colour so no one ever has my green! lol
Well, i got it, it was not perfect, but was ok, now ive got a few problems, needs steering work to fix the /--\ of the fronts and rears, and needs some work on the engine, and a major service (100k), had stuff stolen from it, paint is shoddy as and the exhaust is apparently totally fubared..... but ITS MINE, BACK OFF... OR ILL SHANK YEH...
mines a keeper . it'd be pretty hard for anybody to register with no emissions gear, no cats and no sound deadener or interior except for the dash, door trims, race bucket seat and 6 point harnesses.
Gonna drive it into the ground! And if or when she dies - whether her body gets smashed or the engine dies will transplant whatever needs transplanting and revive her once more! Gonna take more than oil running out to stop the monster... actually, shit.. oil IS gonna run out someday. Is there a viable alternative yet? Zedding forever! :zlove:
Oh the humanity! I experienced the pain of the deep black pocket hole and I got rid of mine, NOW I'm LOOKING FOR A NEW ZED! As much as i'd love a TT i'm in search of a mechanically sound, wallet friendly NA Zed to cruise around in with the tops off. I'm making a return ASAP. Fate
