Well it's been 5 months since my last post, probably time to update the thread with the progress since... Things I've had installed since May (in no particular order): - Hyperflex Master Bushing Kit - Stainless braided brake lines - Nismo transmission mount - New rear wheel hubs/bearings - 4.10:1 Leader gears in rebuilt TT diff - Z1 BOVs with recirc fittings - 750cc injectors - Tuneagent Dumps and test pipes (making it a full 2.5" turbo-back exhaust now) - Nistune - Japtek SMICS - Ally undertray and airguides to suit the Japtek SMICs - New TT fuel pump All parts were installed by A2Zed with the exception of Nistune, the Japtek SMICS and the fuel pump (they were done by yours truly). A+ for the work by A2Zed, there's a multitude of reasons I keep going back to Eric and Trevor! I also like to have it done professionally as someone may be less inclined to buy my Z if they knew it was all done by myself in the backyard... I had the Z tuned by EFI Performance when I first installed Nistune. I requested a safe tune with no pinging and it made 304.7RWHP. A couple of months later I got the 750cc injectors, dumps and pipes, and the Z1 BOVs installed so it went in for a retune - mainly to get the settings for the new injectors spot on but Eric did a good job with patching the previous tune in the meantime. This time it made 302.4RWHP but the power curve doesn't drop off as drastically after 5000rpm as it did before (sorry no pics of the first tune, the dyno printer was dead ) Latest dyno sheet (took a photo as their printer is STILL dead lol): You can see it's only boosting to 14psi with the new BOVs so next time I go in for a tune I'll get them to reset the boost controller to hold 15psi and I should get even more powers! Time for vids and pics then! From the last dyno tune, the first vid kinda shows the sound of the BOVs in recirc mode and the lack of goose honk! [yt]DH1gVYdQ8XE[/yt] A full run from the back [yt]ixAHseqWb5c[/yt] Final vid otherwise you guys will get bored... better idea of the exhaust sound here. I think it's just quietly angry [yt]rx3b5Sr6Rik[/yt] Just some pics of the new stuff before it went in... P.s. I've been having an absolute ball on the bike!!
Compared to the 1.5" strip on either side before that particular ride,it's pretty small Still getting my confidence up though BTW, if anyone wants to know how I made such an improvement in a 6 hour ride, it was from simply watching (and learning from) a DVD called Twist of the Wrist II by Keith Code. Nothing else.
That 2HP could be a power loss, or it could be due to the different weather conditions, different fuel quality, anything... If it was 10-15HP I would be concerned, otherwise it makes no difference. The biggest improvement was the power curve. Previously it died in the arse shortly after the peak point, now it maintains it
