    Gone for me

Ive owned two....qand they have been the cars that have cost me more been dissapointed with more and caused me more problems than any other car ive owned so dipite the fantastic looks...I bailed out for good now 2 times over before my 1st z i had an ed xr8 which gave me no problems and were easy as hell to mod...Ive just bout a B xr8 now running afr heads bigger t/b and plans for a vortech s/charger...Im on the right path this time my friends.Id advise u guys to do the same..just remember that grand for a small part could be good times with ur family a new wardrobe(clothes) a big screen tv etc....why bother with the headaches..ANY mechanic will tell ya...or opt for a 350z like that other guy said...anyways best o luck...

LMAO. Any mechanic will not agree with what you said,

These cars can be extremely reliable if maintained properly

Its unfortunate that you had a bad experience but do you honestly think we'd all be here if these cars were as bad as the 2 you had?

    like i said

Thats MY opinion which im ENTITLED to.Talking problems? You go to ANY other forum and you see people talking about good experiences..here?yes i know theres lots of good experiences too i know i had plenty myself but usually here (more tnah other forums)it goes like"oh this has happened and that has happened and shit this has died and thats gonna cost me this..Im just saying I have a way more reliable car now and I plan on keeping it that way.isnt it funny that ive owned m ore cars than I can count and the most reliable have always been the cast iron v8 kind?I did sign off nicely I bid farewll and good luck to all Z owners and I your in it for the long haul great! However by the time you spend your yearly mantenence and parts that are going dead maybe you too, will think ahhhh stuf this...and move on...people do.

Nothing wrong with yout opinion mate, but you were generalising, not every zed is a unreliable piece of shit, and not every v8 is trouble free. As i said it unfortunate that you had a bad experience but its good u have found something you are happy with

    BigCol That's what she said...

I think it comes down to a few simple factors.
    a) Are the other forums you're on comparing cars of the same age and technical complexity? Probably not.
    b) There are other reasons why people own zeds other than 100% availability, or cheap running costs. Even you would concede that if you wanted the most reliable car ever made you would probably own a Corolla etc. Wanting to fix, restore, and maintain an aging car is what seperates enthusiasts from owners.

Us enthusiasts are quite happy with our lot. The rest of the population just don't understand :zlove:

Im fairly random when it comes to buying / selling things ( even cars ), but the ZED feels like a keeper. Ive spent almost 9k on it since i got it, ive had it for little over a year.

It would be tempting to sell the zed to add to funds for a GTR though.

keeping it until I start my new job in october, then i'll probably buy an R34 GTR or maybe even an E92 335i TT depending on available funds.

Haven't spent enough to warrant keeping it.

I loved the zeds looks and yes it IS EXTEREMELy unfortunate that I had not one but TWO lemons....I mean why did i by another one?cos I loved them so much...I guess what im saying is...theres alot(mecanically)that i dont know how to fix on these cars so maybe they are great cars to own if u can fix them.also even reliable ones which is fine when u own them for years and there is no problem cool!Im just saying EVENTUALLY there will be problems and thats a nightmare.I I was rich or I didnt mind paying for fixing every little thing then Id still be a happy zedder to this day.what i dint like was getting something fixed and being happy for a month then something else needed fixing.the list just went on and on and on......and I dont tyhink the second one was a lemoin at all its just that when things started to go a little bit wrong i got scared..fast!because of the 1st one....these were rich boys toys when they came out and its scary to think a little p plater that likes the shape will buy one for 7 grand and pay upwards of 20 grand in the future on costs

Im keeping mine no matter wat:zlove:. Mum hated it when i got it 1. cause it waz a manual (she can't drive manaul) 2. cause its not a family car (coming from a large family). my nana loves it through, she said she could c herself driving it around. mum also complains that i drive 2 fast:rolleyes: imo if u own a fast car it should be driven like 1. Ive also sunk a few grand into her in the year and half that ive had my z, so i hate to lose her knowing that ive just gotten started.

Who are you to tell people what they can/cant spend their time and money on? Seriously.

Also Im sick of people with no mechanical experience buying cars that are well out of their depth and then blaming the car itself when something goes wrong. It's your own stupid fault if you bought a car that had existing problems and then paid someone a shit ton of money to fix it because you didn't want to pickup a service manual and learn yourself. But sure, blame the car. Stupid lemon, the car should fix itself and teach you how to read and pickup a tool all at the same time.

Ship jumping doesn't happen with real Z enthusiasts, it's pretty obvious to spot the guys who will only own a Z for 5 minutes before selling it for a fully sic Supra or Commodore etc. I wouldn't worry about it...
