engine time now will paint it when its drivable dont want it pushed around by dirty mechanic hands with fresh paint
Awesome project! We've been looking to see a widebody Z with our Type II rear bumper and looks like it will finally happen...Looks great so far! Keep it up!
efficiently! page 1 of my build "fast spooling 400+rwkw " engine build is for circuit racing ..after a specific powerband not worried about peak horsepower
1000hp fuel system out with the 20 year old crap fitted 6an teflon fittings and hose from sender ,keeping stock TT pump Custom 4 litre baffled surgetank Aeromotive pump and stainless fuel filter All ally hardlines in the boot to eliminate any fuel smells plus its lighter and not as bulky as braided lines 6an circulating from main tank to surgetank and back 8an circulating from pump and return to surgetank (10an from surgetank to pump) bulk head fittings through boot with teflon fittings and braided hoses teflon hoses back into ally fuel lines for feed and return return hardline into turbosmart 2000hp fuel reg (for 8an fittings) braided hose was looped and tested pump and lines for any leaks or smell in cabin ..PERFECT custom properly baffled oil breather/tank with 10an fittings welded to the Mungyz overflow water tank..nice and compact set up Topfeed fuelrail 8an in/out with ID1000cc injectors just requires teflon hose to rails and its a complete fuel system how the injectors sit in the series 2 lower plenum ..open venturi to allow for the wide spray pattern which both series 2 nismos and ID topfeeds have stock fuel pump speed controller removed .TT pump will be run flat out new one being installed to run the big 700lph aeromotive . kept it simple in terms of one pump one line feed and return not a fan of twin pumps, twin feed fuel rails etc ..its a dinosaur setup with whats available now for the Z. the aeromotive pump draws less power to run than the stock pump
Nice setup Rob. I wouldn't call twin pump or twin feed a "dinosaur setup", it's just 2 different ways of achieving a similar goal. I was always going to go twin pump, but single feed (over twin feed), primarily for redundancy.
yeah true I just dont see the need to split fuel lines these days especially at the rails with all the new upgrades available . . I would be running 3 pumps with my setup if I went 044's
Was having a look At your set up last week, impressive, Dave does nice fab work eh?, Think you will have to seal it off or the noise will drive you mad. I was up there rubber mounting mine as it was to noisy, and my setup is under the car, give it a run at the creek on friday, much quiter.
yeah Dave's good yes putting a perspex lid with rubber seal over spare wheel well. my pump has the proper rubber mounts on it the speed controller should help with noise at low rpm
pic of the baffle plate inside the surgetank being made just a precaution being a large surgetank if main tank ever ran too low
Its been taking a while to get this rebuild finished since engine failure last year .. but alot has been happening behind the scenes .. Now in progress -Engine build -Cams compliant 6 point welded Roll Cage (also welded to A & B pillars and still maintaining full interior ) -Trimmed interior with Cobra Race Seats pictures coming soon . But for now .. happy day coming home from work Concave ! was contemplating painting the wheels in black But the finish is so damn NICE and SMOOTH I will leave it for now .
