Thanks Can't really say Bracket, I'd like to think end of this year, but depends when we get started, maybe some time 2013??
Some Progress on the Interior (sort of) Ok, its been sitting for a while and not much has happened, everything is bought so I dont' have anything new for it to report. after sitting in a pretty dirty, road dusty state (with some egg that I think an old work aquantance threw on the window) i got a few buckets out today and gave it a good wash, considering the body work has been put off for at least another decade or so. I'm just going to do the TT swap, new box, and install all the gauges, electronics etc for the interior I bought. so considering it was a nice sunny day I took some snaps, I won't upload the exterior shots because they are all the same as every other shot, but the interior ones are starting to show the theme that is working out for the interior. WaynoZ hopefully I will have something new to report soon... Don't forget, you can also add WaynoZ on Facebook.... at www.facebook.com/waynozx WaynoZ
Ok, one pic of the exterior... apart from the front bar and where I removed the wing on the back, the paint isnt in too bad shape. would look better with the 19" Brabus rims though :zlove:
just a little update! I just scored a few new parts for the rebuild. now I have new black custom fit car mats, which looks awesome and i've kept the old carpet mats in which means the floor seems slighly higher, making the cockpit feel even more cosier. finally I have a rear hatch trim piece that isnt broken where the shade hooks are. and I also have a cargo shade which needs a tidy up and a go over with black vinyl paint, but will come up good as new(ish) also, I have finally got the rh interior trim that goes behind the drivers seat. both of those were hacked by the previous owner who cut big holes in them to install 7x10's. now they don't have holes no more what else? Oh yeah, now I have a TT gear box, which may or may not need to be rebuilt but will find out soon enough. and also have a short shifter thrown in to boot.. the gearbox is sitting on the back seat of my other car until i can find somewhere to store it. thats not wierd at all... honestly I don't think I could buy any new parts for this Z which i dont already have at least 2 of sitting around somewhere.. must be about time to put it all together??? I have to say, the interior looks so much better with the black mats in over the blue carpet original mats. i like the carpet, but the black ones give a much more modern feel to the cockpit. stay tuned!!!!
The true sign of a fanatic. Blood in - blood out. I expect you refer to the inside of your Z as a "cockpit" now rather than "the interior"?
Yes Sir interior just seems to family sedan, i think with all the controllers and gauges, lighting, and the feel of the seating positions in the Z, Interior just doesnt do it justice. I've never Sat in a Mig, but if i had to guess what it would be like, the Z would probably come close.. I'm sure i'm not the only person who likes to imagine they are Sky Captain in the World of Tomorrow, flying their single engine long distances when on long country drives... am I? and if my fuel light comes on I have to calculate if I have to ditch while sending out a mayday call to the closest tower?? oor, when I come up behind a car I always have to tell my co pilot "I'm on his 6, Bogey id dead ahead" OOrrr, If i'm stuck next to a car on the highway and i need to get across into his lane to get to the offramp I say "I'll put on the Brakes, He'll fly right by" then put on the brakes, slot in behind him and accelerate back around him to the offramp of freedom.... Don't Judge me!
Holy Shit!!! Its moved... finally put the Z on a trailer after sitting out on the road for the last 14 months. I Can't believe it. been a busy day, I'm tired. but my Z is gone, its gone to a better place, and its actually going to have work done. I'll be needing some parts so look out in the wanted section or I'll put a list up here for what I need for a TT conversion. I'll post some pics soon. WaynoZ
Good to hear Waynoz Noel should have some parts as he has wrecked like 5 zeds this year lol if i can help, let me know Abraham
Moving Day!! personally I think the Z's look really sexy with the front bar off, even better when they have a front mount on them, too bad we cant drive them around like that pics from the Move!!!! :br:
Thanks Abz, I appreciate it. yeah we've talked for about 4 hours in the past few days about the build already.. he has what is needed, and if he doesnt, he knows someone who does. A great ZedHead to do business with... now to arrange some much needed parts.. and get my other parts out of Bryans shed
Seeing those pics remind me of how my zed used to look like when i first got it...feels like its been forever lol Hopefully you get all your parts off Bryan and it all works out for you Abraham
so this is the car that my zed will be sleeping next to soon. great to hear you've chosen noel. need anything at all just let me know man as our cars will be getting there new life's right next to each other ahah
awesome!!! well, I still need gearbox throwout bearing na diff to tt trans driveshaft for a 2+0 engine loom for tt conversion slave and master clutch cylinder fuel filter and power steering hoses all to do the tt swap, so if anyone can help out with sourcing those that would be great
you can use you na loom if your running a external boost controller. i might be able to get you a power steering hose depending on tomorrow visit to wreckers
great, but things like hoses i might try and get new. the reason why the na blew is because the old heater hose went.
I'm so ****ing happy right now. looks like the engine might be out finally this weekend or next. I have another TT being built up, managed to get a set of High Flow T28's and going to do some work to the new engine, with ground cams and some testing and cleaning up of the heads. looking into working out a deal to get some rubber on the 19's and a 2k front bar. checked out the Megan coils, and they seem to give a good stance, maybe a bit hard on ride quality but will definately give a bit of a track feel. will be posting shots soon hopefully of an empty engine bay. will be good to have that na out after sitting dead in the bay for the past 15 months. stay tuned San Diego!
Oh My G, what A busy Day.. I think I only got Mild Heat Stroke!!!! spent the whole day cleaning the calipers and disks ready to be sprays, then the ovens been going at 93 degrees C since before Lunch doing its baking thing... the results.... This actually looks soo much better than the pictures gives it credit for.. I'm Wrecked.... Time for a Bath! WaynoZ
