ppl speak highly of COZ regularly ....

Whats the best way to contact him/them ?

Is it considered differnt shipments if they come from the same supplier on differnt dates but may be in customs at same time (ie. a week apart) ?

On the customs site it says the multiple shipments over a short time span from the same sender will be considered as one. I forget exactly what it said but I would think a few spread out over a few weeks would not be enough to work. Different senders though you should be ok.
    Have a read here anyway,
    http://www.customs.gov.au/site/page.cfm?u=5549

But like people have said the sender is usually pretty clued up and will help out when they think it might be needed.
I bought some gauges that would have been over but sender under valued them for me without me even asking.

    ID numbers ....

Hi guys no I'm not going to ask where the engine number is

Just trying to get information on what they mean, do I have the correct motor and auto in what chasis.

So when I order parts etc I can be sure I'm asking for the right thing.

Found some links in previous posts but they were dead.

I heard/read that sometimes the year on the Australian fitted compliance plate isnt correct is this true ?

    My engine number is: VG30775328W
Automatic Transmission: Cant find as per page GI-20 in workshop manual.
Origonal VIN plate: Drivers side firewall in engine bay, is this removed when complied ?

    This is my Australian plates:

The official record for ZX2NV is 276.5 rwkw on martini race fuel on track tune on confirmed calibrated dyno stock engine/turbos

The ones he eventually got were okay there were a number of failures before hand though

Very well done Brisz just take your time with it and make sure everything is okay. Click the link on my sig to my own first engine rebuild thread might be some tips and hints in there for you

    Engine failure porn ...

My heads and block are ok but the crank is stuffed.

Number 6 big end is spun and balancer/keyway is stuffed not sure what the story is behind this sort of damage, did the bearing spin first and shake the shit out of balacer or vice versa ... dunno must consult my engine rebuild yoda or if anyone has opinions I would be interested.

I am seeing if Romac make a balancer for the Z32 as I am not real keen on running an undampened under drive pulley. Will report back when I get an answer. Since I will need to buy a new balancer maybe the Romac will offer a little extra insurance.

Just reading Romac's balancer installation PDF and they suggest NOT running belts of it (read PDF), obviously i will. With this in mind is it possible to OVER tighten your accesory belts and screw with the balancer ?

    http://www.romac.com.au/pdf/Balancers Fitting Inst.pdf

How would you know if your balancer is stuffed (other then engine failure) ?

Would it activate your knock sensor ?

All balanced and unbalanced opinions welcome :p

Sorry about the crap photography but you get the idea:

Broken keyway, don't see that often... Was the crank pulley done up nice and tight? Wasn't wobbling around?

Overtghtneing can cause damage, but generally to the accesories rather than the engine itself. The crank bearings are a lot beffier than the ones in the water pump.

Are you going to be using a Romac pulley, or just reading about it? They sound similar to the Ross balancers.

    Dunno ...

Didnt ask at the time all these thoughts came latter, I'm pretty sure he said that the balancer was stuffed and then a brief chat about doing circular high TPS voltage readings while bouncing of the limiter not being that great for it.

Yeah thats what you would think in regards to belt tension, but its essentialy mounted on rubber there has to be some sort of defarmation and at some point the belt tension IS going to effect its performance ... isnt it ? if not why would Romac's install PDF suggest that it helps not to run belts at all (obviously for big HP)?

Well I got to buy a new Nissan one at least (no price yet) the Romac LS1 is $300 odd on ebay so Its probably cheaper then the Nissan one

Will ask the engine builder next week hopefully when he calls me with some estimates :)

For that sort of money im with Chrispy , i think the Ross balancer would be a good substitute for the stock balancer.

It was a stock balancer ...

    Got engine rebuild quote ...

In excess of $8000 but I guess it depends what I get

And about another $8000 from the states including turbos and manifolds :)

They will be ordered soon to take advantage of the dollar :zlove:

Still leaves a bit for an auto that wont last long I suspect.

Things like roof trim had to go (for the time being) in place of a $25 tin of PlastiDip (Prime at Bowen Hills in Brisbane).

Bit worried about it sticking to the metal, but I intend on making a skin, 4 coats should do it. (Picture is 2)

Anyone know how these come off ?
