    Ok, update for today.

Engine, and entire driveline is finished.

Made up these ducts to properly duct the Japtek coolers, front bar back on and all undertrays back on.

Something to think about later on down the track John. Back to your want for naca ducts, well I had a 280ZX in the other day, and look what it has on the bonnet, curvature is very close to the z32 aswell. Just throwing it out there, has to be better than stupid ford naca's I reckon.

Pretty much all I have left is to wire up the SAFC and fit the front seats. Then it can go to the exhaust shop for some shiny new pipes before we fire it up.

These look awesome, to my knowledge only on 280ZX Turbo import.

They are not matched left to right and would need to be a mirror image, no way of butchering a passenger to make a drivers side that I can see.

Very hard to get hold of, Very nice all the same. :)

Dont know what models they are off specifically. The car was a aus delivered 1982 280zx non turbo that the owner had bought when it was only 6 months old, so unlikely that it had the bonnet changed at that stage.

Well its not long now. Because its DONE !!!

Eric has been a busy beaver.

Fuel tank cleaned out, Apexi AVCR installed, interior and dash all back in, stereo and under dash wiring tidied up, NISMO fuel pressure regulator modded and fitted (Tekky style), ducts completed etc etc etc.

Basically the car is done except for, exhaust, ECU to be screwed in, door popper battery, Rego & US size number plates and that's about it, a nice short list. :)

Probably also get an upholstery cleaner out to do the seats and carpet.

    IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![TIS]

After 5 years laying dormant, everything works as Mr Nissan intended. I expect John is running around his house, bouning off the walls not knowing what to do with himself now. Only one step remains, rego.

    UNFUKINBELIEVABLE !!! [TIS]

After 5 years, a huge pile of parts, a full engine bay rebuild, it just starts and goes, what a crazy weird feeling I had.

Eric spent the day making me a custom exhaust with my 3" in 2" out 100 CPI cats to make the SZ 3" dumps marry up with my 2.5" cat back Fujitsubo Giken JDM exhaust system. http://www.fujitsubo.co.jp/prods/detail/000000000000001188/00000000000000002632/00000545

Well not all day he had to weld up a steel bench first because apparently pros don't weld on the floor. :p

I made myself busy socketing my ECU and inserting a CZP chip, I hope will dyno OK for running in purposes. I then moved onto tasks befitting my mechanical skills ... sorting hardware.

Eric had cleaned out my fuel tank and remounted my fuel pump that had come adrift from the internal hanger, probably when I slapped the wall on the M1, syphoned out 5 year old petrol, cleaned the tank out, then we put about 7-8 litres of nice fresh premium in, hot wired the fuel pump and pumped it all out, nice and clean and rid of the cats piss. More premium, topped up and checked fluids, a few flicks of the switch and away it went. (We did prime the oil system, plugs out and just enough cranking to lift pressure.)

A bit ticky as to be expected at first, I just froze and listened and said what is that grinding noise !, Eric just calmly walks over and starts topping up the power steering fluid. I'm internally shitting myself !

Couldn't believe it after all this time just goes like a bought one, checked for leaks, Eric plugged in his laptop, checked codes, adjusted TPS, listened with his best engine builders face with a few RPM, and that's it its ALIVE !!! WOO HOOOOOO !!!

Thanks mate your the best !

    a2zed = a pile of parts 2 zed, awesome work mate !

well i sure did miss out on a kodak moment by the sounds of things, but i will be there when u drive home in it and there will be photos of that momentous occasion. :D

So glad that Eric talked you into sticking with it and seeing the job through, you would have been kicking yourself if you had of given up when u did.

Now there's only rego to get for it and then she's ready to roll. Well legally rolling on the road that is, after all she has been rolling around for all these yrs, just no oomph under the hood until now

I said it once and i think it is warranted to be said again.......
