Jesus mate there's not much of the original car left , hope this one is a keeper . Hope you are planning on posting up an extensive range of photo's!!!
Screw ebay, loving yahoo auctions :zlove: Better than Christmas Need a bit of a clean, but they work 2nd set is coming with a couple of Navan goodies :br:
about $300 to my door. Won the 2nd set for a bit less, and combining postage with a z32 Navan rear spoiler and a another Navan spoiler, so expecting a little less for them. Another shameless plug for Jesse Streeter About an hour cleaning them up- took scratched clear coat off and quick polish, and they came up a lot better. (Blackberry phone camera and shaky hands dont do them any favours ) Now to delve into the manual to wire them into the interior light circuit
Staying with current setup. Still have both TT manuals to play with in the "go" department. Trying a different approach with this 1- tasteful mods, while incorporating OEM options. Exterior work is last on the list, hence reluctance to post photos. Car still looks predominantly like the POS I first saw at the wrecking yard. Not overly comfortable with the idea of fresh paint while still changing over interior bits and pieces.
Not a bad price considering the rarity of the sills. Jesse seems to be delivering on some quality hard to find items. You should also post up a photo of the whole vehicle. Consider it as a before and way....after photo.
wired into door circuit, with parallel relay behind passenger seat They do come up from time to time.... about 1 set a week. Won these for a little over $200, missed on the second listed set, and won the third at $195. Another pair going atm http://page6.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/f104791421 Agree, Jesse is awesome. Considering the low cost of some of the items I've purchased through him, I dont know how its worth his while. Z32 Navan rear spoiler was won at $49, his commission was only 1000Yen. Freight is the killer, combined with my impatience. Letting a few purchases accumulate this time and sending as a job lot.
Ah ok. When I search yahoo auctions japan i never see anything too worth while. Mustn't be using the right search parameters. Of late I've been trying to find a nice set of 17 inch vs-xx rims for the zed. Will have to inquire with Jesse as to how much rim imports are. And yeah as always bulk buys always save on freight. Should get a gb on a container for all the aus 300 members. Lol Looks good oz. If you have some fine scratches maybe use some wet and dry and gradually use finer paper to buff it back up. But from what i can see they're pretty shnazzy. Thanks for the pics
Around $500 for rims, by sea. Found a set of 18" Amistads I liked, just waiting on the price to lower a bit first.... caus can't contemplate spending that kind of coin and having to wait soo long for them. Issue with the scratches is that the sills are clear coated, and had to rub it back to the alloy underneath, and only given a once over with Autosol. Might get 2nd set polished professionally and change them over, but the EL strips themselves look to be glued in to the underside of the 300ZX panel. Bit dubious about potentially snapping them or losing their waterproof integrity for the sake of restoring to perfect condition.
Dual thermos finally installed. Used the Jaycar Voltage switch with hysteresis settings, which allows you to tap into the existing ECU CTS input, controlling temperature switching on and off points throughout the entire heating range. Once wired in, use a 1K trimpot wired into the CTS plug and set it via temperature displays on ECU talk. Set it to come on at 85-degrees and off and 75-degrees. Temps rise to 87 and then drop back to 82, staying pretty stable within 1-degree, with AC as well. Power for the thermos is direct from battery, parallel 30A Self-resetting circuit breakers and then parallel 30A relays underneath the nose panel. The Jaycar kit has 2 separate sets of relay contacts, so the fans are powered and controlled completely separate from eachother. Found the battery box to be the only flat surface for breakers etc. 70A DC Circuit Breaker is for the Audio. Needs a bit of a clean, but slowly getting there. Bling has brought it up to 310.1rwkw.... just falling behind Icer And finally, a HUGE thanks to A2Zed, who changed my "slightly leaking" Rear Main Seal and centre bearing on a Saturday. No longer leaving a droplets of oil trail to find my way home again, and annoying 80km/hr vibration is goneskis.
alcohol + ebay = Enkei...... + headache Staggered Touring rims, 18x8 and 18x9. Not perfect, but if vague memory serves, a good buy
