its the altermator harness for a manual box you can keep it or make a new one, its also for your starter motor
The car started life as a manual and get converted to auto a some point. Also looks like its been in a front end smash and repaired. Turns out its been re registered 4 times prior to me owning it
White plug near the ecu is for the chassis signals from the ECU. So tacho, speedo, consult etc. I used the VG alternator/starter harness on my VH. VG plug even fits into the VH alternator
Wiring Harness Hi Stillen, The lower harness goes to the alternator and trany shift and solenoid control. I fitted a 1UZ V8 to my Z32 and used a V500 ECU (some wallies called it the devils engine but they just don't have any idea). I also designed and build my own auto controller so I have tiptronic control over the auto. The approach I took was to make a forming board (a term used in the electronics industry meaning a template) for the engine loom and then grafted it into the car. I threw out the Z32 ECU and then started identifying the sections of loom that I didn't need and chopped them out. Only a small number of wires were retained. I kept the PS controller and auto ECU intact as they feed the cruise and dash. I have all my instruments working, recalibrated my tacho, speedo, have aircon, PS and cruise all working fine. If you want any help just drop me a pm. I'm not keen on writing long threads. Regards Ivan
Its all starting to make some sense. I'm going to make my own harness for the starter and gearbox. The gearbox as got a reverse gear selector solenoid and the alternator is now on the opposite side of the car Started to pull the engine room harness apart to remove the auto tranny and cruse control wiring. Bit of a mess at the moment, but it should be a lot neater when its done
Help need with the V8 wiring Hi I need some help for you guys who have done the VH45DE conversion. Nearly got all the wires for the engine connected to the ZX harness, down to the last one. The only one left is the wire for the cooling fan relay. The manual and wiring diagrams I've got are for the US Infinity which shows the cooling fan connected to pin 4 for the US and pins 4 & 5 for Canada (goes to pin 19 on the ZX) My engine and ECM came from Japan and there is no connection to pin 4 & 5 on the engine ECM A wiring diagram, wiring info or you got around the problem would be much appreciated
I cheated and hard wired mine on when the ignition was on. This was my main cooling fan, so didn't need to be ecu controlled.
Mines the main cooling fan too, no space left for the fan on front of the engine. I'll have a look in Jaycar can get some sort of temperature controller so the fan ain't running all the time. Also while I had the wiring harness out I shoved in an extra relay and connector for a 2nd cooling fan, going to wire this up in parallel with temp controller and have the fan opreating when the A/C compressor is running
Going off like a frog in a sock Been very busy and making good progress, aiming to get the engine running before the end of the year:- The engine bay harness modified, rewrapped and back in place. The VH45DE engine harness is all connected up and the ECU in place. All the connections for the ZX engine harness have been removed from the engine bay and relocated next to the ECU. The engine bay is a lot neater without them Installed a Jaycar Digital fuel adjuster and voltage control swith for the cooling fan. One piece driveshaft installed The gearbox electrics is all connected, going to use the cruise control cancel switch to operated the reverse lockout solenoid. Pipework for the heater installed, thanks to a pipe I scrounged off Jinxed And the fuel injection system as been refitted
Ready to put the whole **** thing in the bin Having a bad time, things don,t fit due the postion I mounted the engine and some bits are missing. Trying to refit the IACV-AAC pipework, can any one tell me where the spare end ot the Y shaped rubber pipe in the piccy goes to?
It goes to a long pipe that is blanked off. Some of the US guys just remove the IACV unit completely and set the idle with the throttle.
Thanks, I used that pipe to modify the oil pickup. I'm thinking of reloacating the IACV unit to get around my problerm. Though I still feel like throwing the whole thing in a very deep hole
Nah don't do it man, you've put a lot of time and effort into this motor. Just sit back for a few days and chill, leave the motor alone and give yourself some time to think clearly, and after a few relaxing brews you'll feel better and want to finish off what you've started, it can be frustrating like a lot of things in life, but the trick is too not let it get too you.
Just having a bad day at the office, well week more like. Customers can get very annoying. I'll be back into it in a couple of days. So determined to get it running before I move house again in the new year
 that's a better outlook, just chill and forget all about customers and leave them at work when the work days over.
Only problem is my work place is at home and some days theres a never ending line of emails compalining about some trivial problem with there fruit or milk
Carbon Canister The carbon canister has gone due to lack of space. I'm interested to know from anyone who has remove their CC, have you had any problems and what did you do with the vent line rom the tank
