    Great weekend away!

Thanks to Pete for organising it all. Great resort with lots to do.

Friday night was a quiet one as most people arrived at different times throughout the afternoon/night.

We all met up on Saturday morning and did a lovely cruise up to Dorringo national park before heading down to the Coffs Harbour Jetty. And then to top it all off dinner last night.

Great to put some faces to names and see you all at the next gathering!

The pics i can see are only small on the forum page, what resolution should i have chosen at imageshack? and can this be fixed to make them larger?
    Thanks
    Bruce

    Hey Bruce

The larger the picture size, the longer the page load and if you have lots of pics, you should use the title "pic heavy" in the header or you could get flamed a bit.

You should use 600 x 800 on average if you have lots of pics
or 1024 x 720 if you have only one or two as this gives good depth as well

above that resolution - it needs to be justified - i.e. if you need to show some fine detail of lets say a part or you are uploading a poster for others to print out- you should prefix with something like picture 10 mb (megabyte) that way people will know what to expect and how long it will take to download the page (it wont be instant) or again you might need a flame suit

given the number of photos you had - it was appropriate to use small pics as it loaded fast, and if you had any pics that you wanted to highlight you could push them to 800 x 600.

If you show many pics at 800 x 600 it can be helpful to do it in several pages so that again, it doesnt cause too many problems for any particular user and they can do it in parts and/or be choosy as to what parts they want to see.

In short you need to remember that everyone has different connections and computers and so you should try to cater for the worst setup that might be out there such as internet phone cnnection or a 14 inch monitor etc - its just computer etiquette I guess

But you got the idea and got the forum part downpat - the rest is easy mate!

    Cheers
    JC
