 Actually ....... I shouldnt laugh My corolla is quicker by 4/tenths of a sec up the local hillclimb circut !!! :br::br:
not if you know how to drive.... will blow away non turbo celicas etc...3sge's.... given its only a 2 litre but a much lighter car... in my old n/a auto that was very tired, within a week i blew the doors off my mates 3sgte corona, hondas were just a joke..... blew away a type r integra, sure they arnt that quick in a straight line, but anything fwd vs a Z round a corner is going to get smoked. provided you know how to drive once more. there are many z's on the road here with 300hp@the wheels with z32 n/a's with bolt on bits. ud pulley ecu chip, split intake, headers, exhaust. its not that hard to milk power from them, and far more reliable than a TT let alone easier to work on, under the hood any extra space is a god send. hence the best engine u can put in a Z is a VH.... in saying that, you can get 400whp out of a TT, with just an intake an exhaust and ecu chip.... obviously an upgraded fuel pump and a bit more boost. i didnt buy a Z based on how fast it goes... you gotta look at what you want in a car... for me i saved up and went right heres what pisses me off about my current car.... the door lock for inside was on the sill, really bugged me when my arm was on the sill driving along... wanted a sunroof that opened or was removeable, comfort for long trips 2 door sports coupe rwd ....obviously... not overly desirable to thiefs.... not overpriced/ common due to "boy racers" a skyline was twice the price, very high theft rate, and most have been thrashed within an inch of thier life, same went for the silvia's. i narrowed it down to mr2 and z32, i test drove 2 mr2's and it just didnt suit my size / driving style, or habbits... the centre console was too high, to have your arm on sill your elbow was at ear height, and being 6 foot tall it was pretty clostrophobic in there... i drove a z and had to have it, i just knew it was everything i had always wanted, not to mention wanting one since i was 13 when a girl in my class always got picked up by her brother in the soundstream z32, this is back in about 2000. the z was the sensible choice... but as i say make your own list with what you want in a car.... then narrow it down. lifes too short, most of my mates hate the z's styling, i dont care, its my car and everything i have ever wanted, when you find the right car you will just know.
mclovin used to own a NA but couldn't play with the big boys and talk shit so now has a auto TT now he likes to pay out on NAs to get reactions. don't bite. replies like yours fuels the fire since cars like celicas shouldn't even be in the same sentence as a Z, it's like saying your NA beat a dude on a bicycle. wow fast. btw what's this about 300HP @ the wheels from a NA? i have every bolt on available and only pulling 200HP @ the wheels. also i've got a JDM DC2 Type R and I can tell you now it could walk my NA in a proper 1/4 mile drag. if you beat one in the traffic light olympics then chances are the owner just can't drive.
have you chipped the ecu on your z? fuell exhaust all emissions control removed etc? 220 @ the flywheel is stock n/a, so for you to only be getting 200 @ wheels with all bolt ons something is up... you dont lose that much through drive train. what have you done exactly, i think my mates was a dc3, 97 ish? type r somthing or other.... and my n/a zed had no problems dealing to it.
Lol get the fcuk outta here. How can knowing how to drive make any difference witha n/a auto. lol you just mash the throttle , thats it. dyno's in New Zealand must be like brisbane southside dyno's. 300rwhp out of an/a, i dont htink so, an 400rwhp out of a stoc TT. No way. GTFO
So did I, apoligies if there was no intent. So who has the high dyno over this side? I have been to a few dyno days lately, no one stood out as over the top.
its just a joke us northsiders have. there hasnt been anything that stands out in the past year at least
this thread has potential to become "post of the year" 185km/h between traffic light in a NA AUTO, 300hp NA AUTO, 400hp stock TT
I'm not talking shit or trying to get a reaction but hot hatches these days and the likes are faster, its just fact. The thread is about speed otherwise the NA Z is still a nicer car. Owned my TT since I can remember, its not staying auto for long tho. Ahh you buy an NA and upgrade to a TT two years ago and the forum never lets you live it down. 300hp at the wheels on an NA? that doesn't sound right. I know TT's running 15psi and nistune pushing around 300hp. Since when the hell do front wheel drive cars count? TT vs NA reliability is questionable, NA's are fairly bullet proof but the reasons for that are obvious. I can vouch for TT reliability though had my 1990 model two years and never overheated, never broken down and cost 2k less than what I sold the NA for which was a 1992 model.
there's more wrong's in this than a Chinese phone book not gonna bother repeating what everyone else has said [TIS]
