[VIC] GOR cruise goes off with a HUGE bang and a record turnout

hey simon are you sure it was paul behind you or was it me...but no joke that bus driver nearly drove me off to....not too happy bout that, wish i got his plate number or something and told the cop that was behind me, my mate got some great videos of you infront of us going towards lorne and apollo bay...awesome stuff but he cant transfer it to his comp atm...i want more videos...doesnt anyone else have any:zlove:

No, sorry Alex. I only dragged the camera out for the few minutes in the chopper. But the reason we were doing 80 on the way to Geelong was 1/ so BADZX could take some footage, and 2/ Let BADZX catch up! So hopefully he has some footage to put up at some stage.

yeah Paul and I were behind you a fair bit, but about 70 if not 80% of GOR we were behind RENZED lol.

 

Shame about the busses, but with a bit of inginuity we managed to have a friken great ride . Silly part was I wasnt even close to the limits of the car. Man, the Eibachs, AGX's and sway bars are good ! :zlove:

I got a bit annoyed. I saw 2 mates overtaking when they shouldnt have. I am NOT going to any more funerals for freinds, so stop taking unneccesary risks.

Its one thing to have a great time and stretch the car out on roads like the GOR. But NEVER take silly risks. I spoke to both of them later about it.

Regardless of how good your eye sight is, YOU CANT SEE AROUND BLIND CORNERS. Nuff said I think.

When you lot headed off to Port Campbell, Jenny and I had lunch at the Otways light house.



I couldnt face another 200klms. So we turned around and hammered back to Lorne ( and there was hardly any cars ) Then on to Geelong and home. I recon we where having a coffee and watching a movie at home, before most of you got to Geelong.

That extra 200klms tacked on was too much for me. As it was, I did 550klm that day and had a huge head ache.

 

It was the reflection of that luminous vest you were wearing tekky lol
You should have seen the migraines we all got from it lol

Sorry what did you say? I can't quite hear, last thing I heard was Kingy trying to tell us where we were going followed by a very loud noise sounded like some very crazy exhaust system, then nothing ever since... quite wierd.

Nah, to be truthful the only reason my rear was sore from the day was the vibrations of your exhaust, haha. I felt you coming on the Torquay highway, when you want past I thought "Wow thats one of the loudest things i've heard"

 

can't wait to see some of these videos simon. when i was behind you i could see kathy taking pics and random flashes coming out of your rear window lol

i didn't get any footage as had no passenger for the first leg. i'm not insane enough try and record holding my camera while following kingy @ the same time.

wish i had that in car cam mount of urs. once i got to the front of the queue behind kingy there was no more traffic, i think i had a good half hour of clear runnings. loved it.

 

agreed i couldnt believe it wen i saw that. overtaking is one thing, but on a corner is another .

 

was that you i thundered past Paul ,i remember overtaking someone pretty quick lol ,and yes the colours you could see would have been the amps reflecting
And Mike,im sad to say i never actually used the in car camera mount,we were having so much fun with driving,we forgot to use it

Watched the vid we took of the day then left all the gear on the lounge floor ..... so the dog could chew the cables to bits

GOR.... backwards
Run the Highway down to LaversHill then along the coast, totally differant way of doing it, especially with them cliffs being so much closer to the passengers side !!

Haha yeah on the Torquay road it was Was a different feeling. But I could live with the sound quite easily, was the best sound.

Your Neighbours must really get along with you , I know mine almost hate my exhaust, and its got nothing on yours.

A backwards run of the GOR sounds fun, might have to do it in the GTR this time if the clutch is fixed by then. There are some great roads in the Sutton Grange area and Mt Alexander area near Bendigo though and Bendigo is a town that might see 2 or 3 Zs if that so would be funny to have a large group take over town
