    Hi Folks

With the success of round 1 and people enquiring about another group buy please find the following repeat offer.
This is an amazing unit. I've had mine in the Z for months now, and as well as the practicalities of the cruise use, it's great listening and chatting to other road users including the truckies, and last but not least the UHF scanner component including the analogue police frequencies are just wonderful. Some of the things you hear just make you appreciate who you share the road with + all the other incidentals like break-ins, assaults etc etc.
Great for avoiding traffic jams as you get to hear all the traffic accidents in real time.

    Anyway, onto the details

In line with our cruise "recommended requirements", I'd like to offer/suggest this item for all cruise attendees Australia wide.
Are you ever one of those people on cruises without a hand-held UHF?
Even better are you one of those people with a UHF hand-held, but find they have a 100 meter effective range in the car (which is bloody useless), and on top of that, the volume of the units are so low, that you can't hear the conversations over your exhaust.
Doubly forget it if you have your targas off.

Consider this purchase an additional safety device to any cruise you attend, and it also has the added bonus of scanning all frequencies above 400MHz (listen in on any analogue conversation outside of the normal CB band).
Outside of cruises, on channel 40 (the Truckie channel), you will find all your traffic reports as well as radars (Flash for cash). Truckies are a handy bunch :)

This unit has a detachable face so the unit can be mounted anywhere and the head (which is quite small) can be mounted much more conveniently.

    Participation level required 4+ units
The costs $305 inc GST for the unit.
$18 for the rubber duckie antenna

Of course, you can organise your own antenna solutions if you prefer

I am happy to supply any interstate members, a $12.50 freight cost will apply in addition to the above costs for metropolitan areas. If you are in country areas, I'll let you know any extra if required.

Yeh OK. I just bought 2 handheld UHFs but I think this will be much better... other than the fact I'll have an ugly antenna ruining my Zed's sleek style....

Put me down for the radio and both antennas, thanks Greg! I'd also like this before the weekend cruise, or perhaps to install on the the tech day. As soon as we've got 4 in, let me know and I will pay up :)

I also have to hand helds but they're old and I will keep them as cruise spares. :)

I've disabled my electric arial so I may be able to integrate rubber ducky into that location. :D

Update, the 1 metre metal antenna option is no longer available (Particular not to Sticky as per your PM).
I've spoken quite easily to the hyperdome from near home at Waterford / Loganlea area on the ducky antenna, and I can receive gold coast police broadcast from home (50 KM) from the repeater.

Also the metal antenna would just look so uncool on the car.

Also, the duckie is an omnidirectional antenna, whereas the metal one transmits 90 percent of it's power quite directionally, and requires mounting 100% vertically to be effective.

That's why we all chose the ducky last time.

I will edit the original post to reflect this.

I don't get paid until tonight. Don't stress.

I'll just go the rubber ducky for more range Greg. I don't mind not having big stiffy. :)

Yep, Fate's coming to dalby, he has a big stiffy too :)

    All takers,
pricing is now at QTY pricing, I spoke with the distributor today and we negotiated it.

I am collecting units for Archon and Kiz today, as they have paid already.

QLDers, If you want the units for Dalby, then you must pay me before Lunchtime Thursday (as in 26th feb)

    mrkarter77 No Really, They do!!!

just a hint for installing, like fate has, and mine too, you can get a z shaped bracket, pop it under one of the screws on the pass side of your bonnet/guard and its easy, no drilling required, i have mine just sitting in the glovebox, as its something i dont use :p

    will post pics if required

  18. Cam

    Cam ****

Not required for mine. It will be going in place of the stereo ariel.

I'd like to put mine there too... but i'll let you butcher yours first before I try.

  20. Cam

    Cam ****

Butchering not required...much. :p Just pull the stocker out and slip rubber ducky in (boring may be required for thicker ariel) then figure out how to mount it on the inside.
