35%. Agree. 35% is the way to go for tint. 2 reasons. The first is that 35% is all you really need. It's dark enough to make the car look good and it blocks out the sun etc. Secondly, tint is probably the easiest and fastest way the police will defect your car. They go straight for it and a car like the Zed stands out as it is so that's all they need. You might have a good run with illegal tint for a while, but once they get you, it's no fun putting your car over the pits...so if you get anything lower than 35%, make sure your car is pit worthy...and I'm being serious now. Cheers thanx chad. I agree with you tint a car sounds the way to go. My 1/4 windows have ripples in them so i wanted to get them replaced. Not sure on % though as i dont want to go to dark. Ill always thought 15% was the legal all round. guess things have changed. Update us when you get it done so i can get an idea on what i want for my silver zed.
If your car is pre 1994 (aka before the laws changed for tinting) you can get any tint you like, may it be 5% or whatever. Problem is even tho its legal for a pre 1994 vehicle and they cant defect you for it (they can if they know it didnt come with the car) only prob is yeah night time version is piss poor and just purely dangerous, you cant see anything without it being a very lite up area (aka right in the city cbd etc with street lights + other lights around) so if you only drive ya car on bright sunny days thats fine, otherwise 35% is the darkest legal tint you can get for the new laws and dont go lower for 20% cause it starts to get a bit difficult to see even at that (hense the 35% law)
to be truthful chad,photos are pointless,anyone can take a photo in cloudy conditions and the windows look black,another photo in different conditions again and they look light Go down to a tinters and have a look at their samples ,thats the only way to get a proper idea of what will suit your tastes :zlove: I wouldnt go to 20% if i was you,you are asking for trouble on a black car if you do msn Simon,he will tell you where,how much and % that ours are done
As dark as you can get away with, mine are stupid dark to the point I dont know the % but I know it aint legal and I've never had a problem. Even during road worthy inspection nobody said anything. Then again nobody said anything about my pod, turbo timer, being too low, too loud and a whole bunch of other stuff... Ahhhh, lovely QLD! lol
It solely depends on who you go to for the inspections etc as to whether it passes, either that or they were having a good day lol. I've only got a slight tint on mine, thats how i got it, a lol bit darker couldve been better but i guess i got what i got..... have no idea what % it could be.
Just took a quick shot of my car, thats with 5% tint. I'm getting it ripped off on Wednesday and getting 30% on the wind ups, 15 or 20% on the back and quarters and 5% on the targers
That comes into it sure but I have had 2 different inspections and one guy was a real hard ass and still didn't pull me up for those things. I think it has alot to do with how the car is presented as a whole, dark tint just looks right on my car. I'm sure if I had a big f#%k off wing and 20" chrome spinners etc then I would get pulled up for it, and everything else along with it.
