Congrats mate on finally getting it back together, its a great feeling of accomplishment isnt it. (once the bastards back in there) Just got mine back in the other week too, not half as impressive as yours unfortunatly . Come to think of it might make my own mini thread tonight ps;Had evil thoughts of N2O yet?
What an achievement! You really should give yourself a pat on the back bud. After all the delays and headaches, it has all come together beautifully. :zlove: I'm piddling my pants waiting to see it in person in a couple of weeks for Cowra mate. Awesome.
Agree with Trav... Would be great if you were able to record the first time she comes to life again :zlove:
Mission Successful!!!! A mate and I finished off as much as we could so we could do the initial fire up and fast idle to operating temp. Little cough as can be expected from a totally disassembled motor, second crank away she went, it even idled fine Very happy with how smooth it is. The balancing work is truly showing even at idle speed. I was expecting more noise from the forged pistons when it was cold but only gave off a slight rattle until the water temp hit 45C. Got a little issue with the James007 short shifter not slotting into the gears on the lower half of the pattern (2nd, 4th Reverse) so I will have to do some investigation tomorrow. Get the passenger fender back on along with the bonnet and front bar and it's running in time :zlove: Big thank you to the people I PM'd asking advise of their experience with rebuilding their own engines. Make special mention again that Wizard has been very helpful in answering questions I was grey on. I owe you a beer at Cowra mate For all those that wanted a vid of this landmark occassion, I joined youtube and posted it there.
Wizard's apprentice .... ... has done a mighty fine job
Great work Karl, don't forget to put a tow hook on the back, so when you slingshot past my place on the way to Cowra, I can get a free tow. You need to make good use of all those spare horsies.
Woo Hoo Karl Had a look at the vid, sounds good eh? Bet your still grinning Look forward to having a few beers with you at Cowra.
