holy wow!.. beach front.. and he didnt kill anyone!.

Im a young guy myself, on Greenie P's.. so naturally when i hear (ban P's from performance/fast cars etc) i get very up tight LOL. Not saying ive never done anything wrong. ill admit ive sped a (80) in a 60 once or twice from my house when im late for work at 5am LOL... But otherwise i havnt ever been booked, got all my points.. only been pulled over 5 times not including random breath tests and most of those were to inspect the car (lancer) i was driving at the time.

The whole street racing scene is stupid (i dont know about other areas but even where i live it happens) but down here its usually holdens, VE, SS, .. or ur P plater driving a EXcel, Integra, Prelude.. or daddy's V8 something or other when they shouldnt, and racing off the lights!.. what i call stockie banging LOL.. its kinda sad, and because they are (mainly) P platers that do it.. it draws attention to already scutinised P plate drivers.. so GOD FORBID one be driving a head turning car.. but who is a reasonable driver who actually cares for his car!. 1st day in the ZX, all of a sudden i heard everyone talking about me as a hoon and they didnt even know me cause i had P's and a notibly fast, hot looking car LOL. (talk about prejudice)

As for power restrictions.. GAH!.. .. thats not gonna do nothing. my old 74 celica could get up to 150 allright! (on a track day). and it was a 1.6L 4 cyl at 30 yrs old! LOL....

    yep....

Even still tho, as a p plater in a sports car, i get yelled at all the time, for going too fast, normally doing about 40 in a 50 zone...

haha yea, you get that as well, but in my street, and around the area, i never come close to the speed limit because there are always kids running around. and yea there is a cranky old dude that obviously thinks noise=fast. so yea, he yells

That shits me to no end.

"OMG that car looks fast, sounds aggressive therefore it MUST be going fast..."

I had an old bloke (no offense to old blokes) arc up at me as I was pulling into a culdersac for a friends party. Here I am crawling up this road slow as a wet week because there are cars on both sides of the road and just because I had a shiny fast looking + loud car I copped a load of abuse.

I'm sure they wouldn't like it if I just assumed that because they are old they must be retarded...

But if they are yelling at slow moving cars for going fast, they must be retarded, and if its happened to more than one of us, it must = that all old people arent able to judge speed, therefore all old people should have their licence removed....

just like all young people cant drive, therefore their privelage to drive high powered cars is removed, fair deal?

    :biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

Lmao.. hey come on.. lay off the old people.. to them any faster then 40 is a life or death situation when a corner is approaching half a kilometer away... as for the girls remark and throwing themselves at you. yeah that happens.. suer they dont look bad.. but god knows what kinda creepies they have on them.

The only old people I'd take a license away from are those that are a danger on the road just like anyone else. I'd have at a guess and say that most oldies are probably pretty damn good drivers simply through having many years of experience. It's only that we hear about the really bad ones that people arc up.

I just get fed up with the abuse when you haven't a damn thing wrong. And people wonder why there ends up this great divide between young and old.

I also get tired of the old rigmarol about OMG KIDS DOING BURNOUTS, or people "hooning". Its such a crock. Sure there are some people that do truly stupid things but then everyone seems to forget how they were when they were young or had a fast car and that in most cases its a bit of harmless fun.

I hardly want to start a debate but I think that before anyone criticizes someone young or old that they think very hard about what they have done in the past and think about how they will end up as they get older. Hell I already catch myself from time to time talking shit about what some P plater in front of me, but then I think back about how I was when I first got a license and realize its all part of learning.

Exactly, there is more like 3 sides to the rift though, there are the clueless kids, who dont give a shi, and go about saying old people this, old people that, (like my post, not the sarcasm in mine however) and there are old people that i spoke about in the post, who assume sports cars and kids = hoon, and then there are those like you, who are in the middle, saying that "some" of the older people complain, nd shouldnt have licences, and kids are going to do it, no matter what, etc etc, you get my point..

Thing is though, the older people that are just saying, "stop hooning" are the silly ones, that bring punishment to those who do nothing, to "try" and stop it.

It has been going on for years, its never going to stop alltogether, these people need to realise that, and build a bridge. im not saying just let them have their fun doing 180 in a 60 zone. im saying give them a 180 zone to go nuts in, get a big open area, where nothing else is, and let them go, charge 20bucks a car, make them sign a form, and whatever they do to themselves is their own fault.

well you just missed the boat the majority of these "street-racers" have poor crappy shitty or average cars, bombed out 180sx's
fully sick commo VS and VTs

hell i have almost the money to buy a decent zed but i CANNOT BE ****ED going through and PAYING through the arse to get appropriate cams liscence.

why because even tho i have money alot of it is tied up.

ATLEAST ATLEAST if the government is banging on about the issue actually put MONEY FORWARD for a solution.

our taxes go up, levies are increased you telling me the treasury somehow doesnt have enough money to readjust some to SUBSIDISED racing tracks.

if they dont want full responsibility how about like a "official union of race track owners" where there is some kind of discount from the government to those who run these race tracks so they can lower prices.

there are a million and one IDEAS that can be discussed but you just seem to be echoing the politicians who always prefer lip service over real action and so far its convinced you.

this BACKWARDS thinking that the 21st century has fallen victim to is abominable; i thought as a society humans are meant to be ADVANCING.

the problem is BLAME its much easier to BLAME someone or shift blame than it is to come up with a solution; and hey if you "correctly" shift blame then youve solved the problem and everybody is happy...

people thinking that NEGATIVE reinforcement works better than positive are just proof of how retarded society actually really is.

I wonder why i even bother with these topics anymore, it just shows how much people are sheep and willing to get "emotional" over a 60min report topic.

it also shows how when the right "information" is presented people can agree to just about anything no matter how destructive, draconian or a removal of their freedoms it may be.

people who say whats next im gonna get my car crushed from a quick launch at the lights are dead right.

with this kind of legistration in an increasingly bureaucratic nation its not hard to wonder where we are headed...

Just how convenient are these tracks? I'm like 15 mins from Perth city but 50 mins and a whole lot of petrol away from our only 1/4 mile strip. It costs around $70 all up and is open one week night / week and closed at least 3 months of the year.

To make a difference, they need to be open 5-7 days / week, be relatively cheap and within 20 mins from where you pull up next to a fellow 'car enthusiast'.

Try living in Adelaide. We don't even have a drag strip.
